I would say so. The sound design and score hit hard and watching it in silence with others hammered home the discomfort in a powerful way.

 

I think it’s expanding to more theaters on the 12th so you might be able to see it in a more convenient spot soon

 

there was ONE showing in Dallas tomorrow night but it sold out super quick. really hoping it expands on the 12th, cuz I'm dying to see this

 

I tried looking for dates on the 12/13th since they’re already available and I couldn’t find any near me. Maybe theyll be released tomorrow?

 

they usually update showtimes for Friday/upcoming week on Tuesday night around here

Odd release strategy from A24 on this one. I know how platform releases work… but you gotta make it clear when people can see it

 

Finally watched Under the Skin - such a hauntingly beautiful and unique film. Nothing like it.

I’m legitimately angry that I want to pay money to see this in theaters and I have no way to, or know WHEN I will be able to. So frustrating

 

Finally saw this. It’s A LOT to chew on. Deserves to win best sound design at the Oscars - incredible use of sound to convey the atrocities that we all know are going on just over the fence during “everyday life”

I kinda get this not going wide. It’s a very slow art film that will cause walkouts. But it’s certainly something. Not sure where I land on it but I know it’s brilliant

 

Ok so this got nominated for Best Picture so A24 should be releasing this wide for at least one week, right? RIGHT?

 

It is following the classic release strategy of going wide right after the nominations. It used to be a lot more common.

 

Not mad at it but I'm really surprised it got a BP nomination.

Definitely figured it'd get a nom and possible win for best foreign film but didn't think we'd get multiple non English language films in the main BP nominations.

 

Nice, my theater has this in the auditorium that is right next to the employee break room and has had a constant static sound in the background since Mission Impossible

 

This will haunt me for awhile.

Probably the best movie of the year, maybe of the last 5. An insane technical achievement on every level, the unending malice is simultaneously hidden and impossible to miss, I was downright nauseous from start to finish. Has every opportunity to overstep and never does. Don’t know how many directors alive rn are doing it better than Glazer but for me personally it can’t be more than 5
