There's a possibility we get another Yellowcard release in time for summer and I'd be 100% here for it

more EPs I'd be fine with, quality over quantity! their last couple albums were not good all the way through.

  9. What? Southern Air, Lift a Sail, and S/T are all killer, no filler.

lift a sail? more like lift a fail. i can't finish that album and self titled was a buncha old songs rehashed, not a fan.

southern air fucks, i said their last COUPLE albums.

someone said that when it came out and it made me laugh, i also used to laugh at people calling it yellowcard and airwaves, its just lackluster and doesn't hit as hard as their past albums, i could never get through it, its such a long album. 50 minutes is too much yellowcard for me in one sitting.

self titled seemed like a lazy attempt to put something out there before they went away forever, oh wait, they came back. but they re-did old songs and the newer songs were alright. the only songs i remember are rip and got yours, that one hits.

Did you ever think that maybe “A lazy attempt to put something out there before they went away forever” might just be the band writing something that meant something to them and not exactly the songs that you personally want to hear

yeah thats why they rehashed old songs from former projects to get them out there. i was there, i remember it.

Sounds to me like you’ve never written a song or created a piece of music that is special to you, because this happens all the time. Especially when the initial release was on a side project with 1/10th of the exposure. You have a weirdly passive-aggressive attitude towards it, too. The band doesn’t owe you (or anyone) shit. If you don’t like the songs, move on.

  20. Literally in a thread about a (great) album that rehashed old songs from former projects to "get them out there."

    wtf is going on

I don't know how you can seriously think a song like "The Hurt is Gone" sounds like a "rehashed old song." It's one of their best and most unique tracks. That or "Fields and Fences", "What Appears"... so many great and unique tracks on that record.

EDIT: I didn't know that Empty Streets or I'm a Wrecking Ball were released under other artist names in the past, but as someone who has re-recorded material to have it hopefully reach a wider audience, I understand the value of rereleasing a song in this way. Those songs fit perfectly in the record and were great choices.

Huh. Well, you're obviously entitled to your opinion, but I'm puzzled that your criticism is that it "doesn't hit as hard as their past albums." To me, Lift a Sail is pretty easily the most emotionally raw album they ever made. I'll even concede that the album could stand to lose a couple tracks, but it never felt overly long to me. It's literally the exact same length as Ocean Avenue.

I know my take about Lift a Sail being a top 3 Yellowcard album isn't super popular, but I really think a lot of people need to give that album another shot. It's aged very well, IMO.

I don’t think it’s that unpopular, just more extremely divisive. 100% agree with your point that it’s their most emotional record, especially given the context. Also hands down Sean’s best work
