Hey, anybody else experience this: recently, if i add new songs to my main playlist, earlier songs on that PL disappear. Did i reach some kind of max capacity?

Would have been nice of spotify to inform in advance that ur about to reach max cap..

 

I had an issue recently where (only on mobile, and I think just Android), if a playlist reaches a certain length, it swaps the top song and a song halfway down. The playlist looks normal on desktop. Spotify knew it was an issue from day one and took a couple weeks to fix it.

I hope I don't start getting your issue though, I rely heavily on my playlists to keep track of music! The max capacity has always been 10k per playlist, and while I wish they would remove it, they haven't shrunk it either.

 

Thank you! Yeah that swapping thing might be the issue here. I thought it deleted songs, but ir just weirdly shuffles it (on android). Weird. PL is at 3300 songs.

Any way to fix this?

I really wish they'd sort this out. I have an amp at home which can do proper network streaming and I'm increasingly pondering Tidal, because Spotify just won't get the best out of it until they offer the higher quality formats.

 

In the desktop app, Spotify has moved the right and left arrows to the left edge of the app, away from where it was above the green Play/Pause button. Now when I'm going through any list, if I want to check on an album name to see if its a single or an album, I now have to make extra effort with my wrist/mouse to click forward and backwards, to get back to my playlist. Small change, but super annoying when doing this action hundreds of times over

 

Might be a Windows-only thing.

Their entire UI/UX baffles me.

 

I like the DJ option in theory, but goddamn does it play the same songs over and over and over every time I use it.

 

daylist is the only good thing they've done in a while.

 

I’m always pretty floored with the algorithm of random playlists Spotify makes after I listen to an album. I also like how it has recently started putting in interlude tracks sometimes during playlists. Really the main reason I continue to use Spotify is the playlists it generates

 

I don't think I can separate my wife from Spotify (she's straight up told me she won't use a different service), but I do think I'm switching most of my listening over to Qobuz if it's available. Seems a little bit of a gap in what's available, but the transparency as far as sound quality is really refreshing, and I can truly hear a difference on tracks/albums that I've listened to hundreds of times.

 

Is anyone else considering switching to another music streaming service? For whatever reason I'm having a difficult time *discovering* new music. Spotify DJ completely misses the mark for me and maybe plays music I haven't heard before ~5% of the time. It's all singles everyone knows, never any deepcuts. If I'm listening to more indie music DJ turns into an Urban Outfitters and if I'm listening to more rap it turns into the inside of a 17 year old's Dodge Charger. Same with Spotify radio. I'll play a radio based off of a song and it immediately includes songs that Spotify already plays to me on a daily basis. Even when shuffling my playlists on standard or smart shuffle, it's the same shit. The "recommended" tracks played on Smart Shuffle are tracks I already have on other playlists 70% of the time. It's not like I confine myself to one genre either, I listen to pretty much everything. I try and find Spotify curated playlists and half of them are now using the same deeply flawed "made for you" algorithm. On the rare occasion I find a new song I actually like Spotify prioritizes it so much in shuffle, radio, DJ, etc I end up losing interest because I'm tired of hearing it. Is anyone else experiencing this or am I going crazy lol?

 

I use both it and Apple Music. They go back and forth on discovery.

 

I don't like the made for you mixes cause they're all the same songs but I discover a lot from listening to an album I enjoy and then hearing the songs they randomly play after what I choose to listen to is over. I assume the related artists. I find there's more variation in that than the radio stations or playlists

 

Spotify’s “Discover Weekly” is the only playlist they have that gives me new, unheard music every week. It’s released on Mondays

 

I thought the DJ feature was kinda cool until it just started playing the same exact stuff every time I turn it on like a couple weeks in. Haven't touched it in forever. Also feel the shuffle in general has always been complete ass but noticeably worse lately.

 

If up-and-coming bedroom pop/synth pop artists is your thing, this playlist updates every Wednesday and I discover a lot of really great stuff on it.

DJ is awful. Never works well or produces anything I want to listen to.

 

I believe the Discover Weekly playlist is based off the songs you click like on, save, add to playlists, etc
