So FSU thinks they can break a contract they agreed to without paying the buyout because…they’re mad at the Committee and hold the ACC accountable for it? Just say “we’re greedy and want more money even though we agreed to this amount before”. It sucks they got left out but be honest that you would have done this anyways and you think you’re better than everyone else in the conference and deserve all their money too.

 

To FSU’s credit, they have been trying to get out of the contract for a while now, both on their own and with the other six schools. The playoff stuff probably just put some extra motivation or pressure on the president from the boosters and trustees. But this filing was inevitable with or without the season they had.

 

Blaming the ACC is hysterical.

 

Yeah, it would take a pretty big ruling in FSU's favor and would render most grant of rights moot. Realistically, I am assuming FSU is trying to get their cost to leave to a number that is palatable for them.

 

Idk I’m still riding pretty high off this Gasparilla Bowl win. 7-6 is a hell of a lot different than 6-7 for a team that won a combined 14 games over the previous 4 seasons.
