Downloaded AW2! Don’t know when I’ll get around to it. Still loving Callisto and NFS Unbound

 

I’m fully invested in Sea of Stars. It rules

 

Jumping is pretty universal. Sprint, dodge/roll/dash, crouch, etc can vary depending on genre. I don't really expect a FPS to have the same freedom of movement as something like Ori or Hollow Knight, which is precisely why powers in Dishonored and jetpacks in Starfield are so flipping cool. Stealth and/or going behind cover isn't as dynamic imo, Doom 2016 & Eternal are basically platformers.

Playing the new Call of Duty since it’s the free weekend and I’m enjoying it but my god, whoever designed the menus in these games fucking SUCKS

 

I downloaded Warzone recently to test something and that whole CoD launcher is insanely confusing

 

Honestly, it takes like 5 minutes to even try and find your first game because stupid unskippable cutscene and then shoving the battle pass down your throat straight after that

 

In the good old days we only grinded day in and day out to do nothing but make numbers go up in our JRPGs character stat menus

 

@Rob Hughes what am I doing wrong here? It says I have enough points to unlock more property slots but I don’t see how?

After playing a bunch of games I really disliked ( RDR2, Immortals of Aveum, Shadow of the Tomb Raider) It feels nice being back playing a game that actually whips all kinds of ass. Jedi Survivor rocks.

 

What don't you like about Shadow?

 

IGN giving GOTY to Tears of The Kingdom is a joke and I usually back IGN because they get so much unnecessary weird internet hate.

 

How is that a joke?

 

I mean, I'd say TOTK is a legitimately fine choice.

What's your GOTY?

 

BG3 is the clear winner this year. TOTK is great, but it's not quite as ground breaking as BOTW was, for obvious reasons. Doesn't mean it isn't a must play title that improved upon an already amazing experience. This might not be a fair comparison but when Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out it took the established formula and improved upon it as well, but with Zelda and TOTK I think the fact that it was originally intended as DLC is evident to me. Still a great game, and maybe in another year it would be the clear GOTY. Also, who cares? Awards are fun to argue and get passionate about but meh. I'm still mad FFXVI didn't get a GOTY nom at the Video Game Awards.

I very much disagree about TOTK not pushing the BOTW formula. Tons of new mechanics and areas/enemies that all were of merit
