Decided on a top 12. I think there's a running theme across most of these albums of finding contentment in a low place. A couple of them are very recent discoveries. For example, the MC Yallah album might be higher up if I did this again in a couple of months.

Glimmering, almost free-form, folky dream pop with self-possessed breathy vocals.

Serene, vintage synth ambient with organic clicky beats and intermittent vocals.

Sedate, glitchy ambient drone.

Lukid, one half of Rezzett, put out a pretty good solo album this year too...

 

I need to revise my list to somehow include Trophy Eyes - Suicide and Sunshine.
I wrote this band off after their (imo) disappointing previous album. But hot damn this new album is sooo good. Gave it a listen for the first time about a week ago and it has stayed on repeat since.

 

I think this might be the first time I've finished one of these before the year is over? I'm actually kinda proud of myself, lol.
