Also, I enjoy Breaking, Haight St, and Soft Skeletons quite a bit, so New Surrender is fine-ish in my mind

The year is 2025, Matty Mullins now sings for every band. He eventually fired every musician because there was no one left to stop him, and he now tours the world to sold-out stadiums armed with nothing but an old RadioShack karaoke machine and a MacBook Air loaded with way too many harmony and vocoder layers. No one is happy, but we all know that if we stop seeing Matty we'll never hear music again. The darkness never relents, yet I dance to the worst rendition of Copeland's Pope imaginable every time he's in town just to feel something. Anything. Until one day Matty announces he's going to perform mewithoutYou's album Brother, Sister in its entirety, sending me to a psych ward never to be released.

Is Matty going to sing the new songs? Old songs? None at all? I would be pretty annoyed if I went to Stephen's final shows and someone else sang, even for a bit. I guess we'll see!`

Dang, gotta give it to ‘em, they know how to make a setlist. That’s an insane 9 song run to end on, assuming the new ones are good.

 

Should be illegal to not play songs off your most recent release at shows. Unless said release sucks, but convinced does not. how you not gonna play lacerate??

 

No reason this band couldn’t do a 20 song set.

 

Tim from Underoath came out and played Two Graves last night... my buddy was there. Not shocking at all but still cool

wonder if they are gonna change up the set tonight? I feel like i remember them saying there were two different sets.

 

more info from Discord: the two new songs were primarily Matty doing leads and Stephen doing BGVs. apparently the user said they were really good and that Matty surprisingly did a good job on those songs. Walk Alone is more standard pop-punk fare but 7 is heavier.

These new songs were supposed to be released today to streaming but the mix still isn't finalized... Should be coming soon.

 

I'm honestly not surprised the Matty songs sound good live, I just hope it isn't processed to death in the recorded version.

 

I would be interested to hear the Matty songs but not with that layered production

My friend told me Blink's FOH engineer mixed the show last night. He said the sound was really good...

 

Nice. I was one or two tables away from them last night. Very cool!

 

Hard pass from me on the new song. It makes me so sad to think "Anberlin" is releasing new songs and I have no interest in them.

I hope Anchor and Braille keeps scratching their itch in some capacity.
