The Subsonic Eye record is another I want to return to. I loved the previous one.

 

Nice to see Portugal. It won’t be on mine, but I listened to it a lot and it’s better than it got credit for!

 

It’s not as good as Nature of Things but still a very good album. It took me a while to warm up to it because I adored NoT.

 

Nice to see the Andy Shauf record get some love! It’s pretty par for the course Shauf, but his music is always such a pleasure. It’ll probably wind up somewhere on my list as well.

 

Think my top 4 are set but everything is else is definitely not

 

Narrow Head’s in my top 10 for sure. Was my “current AOTY” for probably 6 months after it came out

 

not likely to change before the end of the year. looking at this top ten and I realize just how hard music hit me this year. I fucking love all of these albums. shit got me through it.

Damn didn’t realize Stress Fractures was this year, could have sworn it was on my list last year lol. Throwing it on my honorable mentions.

That ABR record really was a pretty nice surprise. I haven’t been in much of a metalcore mood throughout the year, but that scratched the itch every time I needed it. Did you ever end up checking out their older stuff at all?

 

I did! Dug it a lot, not sure how I never got into them previously but their new album was a fantastic gateway

 

I only just found this a week or two ago, so I haven't had enough time to decide if it's on the list, but I really really like it
