If it helps you feel less old, I work with pretty much only 18-25 year olds and they wouldn’t recognize any of these names either lol

this is both my fav time of year for new music and also my least because I’m usually overwhelmed by the amount of new things I learn about through these lists.

That Earl song is so fucking good. I forgot about it.

No Militarie Gun (aside from the feature) on there is wild. "Very High" and "Do It Faster" are two of my most played. Lot of hype for the Hotline album, but not single tracks making the list. Very funny to see 2Rare on there.

I totally forgot about that Greg Mendez record until I was scrolling the Pitchfork list. It was a good'n though.

    Yes, it's me

Took the words right out of my mouth. I pretty much just stick to my genres and if there is something good out there, I will ultimately hear about it. Any time I actively search for music to get me out of my bubble I almost never find anything that I like.

Don't really get the love for the Lana song. It's fine. The Kendric/Keem song is dope, I feel like I maybe only listened once. Troye Sivan song is great too.

I'm revisiting it right now hahh! It's 3:30am though, not sure if I'll get through the whole record, but it seems I've forgotten lots of parts on it

It gets crazier for me every year that I have heard of less and less of these albums on the publications lists.

Crazy concept I know but SZA’s SOS was actually on my list LAST year!

Good to see Joanna Sterberg, Lonnie Holley, Blue Lakes, Parannoul, and Purelink on the 4k list. This is a weird year where I just don't really like a ton of the consensus favorites. Bummer that Greg Mendez keeps getting overlooked

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

p4k list is very safe/boring to me outside of a couple outliers and I guess they also forgot how to read a calendar.

Stereogum at least had some interesting picks, Im just happy they included Fiddlehead and a couple hardcore bands. Truth Club, Slow Pulp, MSPAINT, and Hotline TNT are nice to see too.
