Yes they were. They went undefeated in a P5, won their conference champion ship, won 2 road P5 games in the non con. They deserve to be there.

 

I said this about 12-0 Notre Dame in 2013 and I was an idiot. They lost 42-14.
Said it about FSU in 2014. Lost 59-20.
Oklahoma in 2015. Lost 37-17.
Michigan State in 2015. Lost 38-0.
Washington in 2016. Lost 24-7.
Notre Dame in 2018. Lost 30-3.
Cincinnati in 2021. Lost 27-6.


MAAAAAAYYYYBBBEE I know what I'm talking about when I say we should pay attention to the actual quality of the team.

 

Teams that played better deserve it more. If the #1 and #2 team, both undefeated, play each other in a conference title, you'd have the loser sit out. That's wrong.
