Georgia having to cancel its Oklahoma game in the spring did no favors to their SOS; but Ole Miss, Missouri, and Tennessee all getting ranked by the committee helps them a lot. Same with Bama having LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. I’m pretty sure the only reason they’ve kept Tennessee ranked is to make Georgia and Bama look better, tbh. We don’t deserve to be in the top 25 at all.

Btw I've screamed for a while that I thought 6 was the magic number for playoffs. 12 is pretty unnecessary....and 4 CAN work but I think 6 allows for wiggle room for years like 2023 when there's a legit logjam.

Outside the 6 teams were talking about (and Ohio state) there's no team that has any legitimate argument to be in some sort of playoff. Ole miss and Penn state failed both of their real tests this season. Oregon got swept by wash, so they blew it. And no non power conference team had a special season (sorry liberty, cusa is DII).

I really hope they revisit the playoff system. I think 12 is silly.

 

6 is silly, just because you like it doesn't mean it's better

Absurd that a team that hasn’t lost in forever and only did to a playoff team by three points isn’t in. Swap Texas and Georgia and now we are talking
