What does remastering even do? Every remastering I've listened to would fail an a/b test for me 10 times out of 10.

I’m honestly not sure exactly. I had a hunch that they might re-record LP 1-4 at some point. This is on Favorite Gentlemen as well (their own label). I do think the vocals back then speak to the time, but getting an (Andy’s Version) with his more mature voice would be really cool.

Thrice recently just did The Artist in The Ambulance - Revisited with new vocals.

Andy and Kevin also just did II Bad Books Revisited, though that was done with some weird experimental production that made some songs better and others not as enjoyable.

My hope is that either it’s just a higher fidelity, deeper and richer production with nothing really changed. Or it’s a re-record with Black Mile era vocals and production across the board.

My friend made a good point, the biggest tell that it’s not a re-record is that the album art is exactly the same.

metn and simple math i'm all for. unless it's like a 1 to 1 redo, or as close as they can get, don't know that i would care about a re-recording of virgin. i'm not a huge fan of the way they play those songs live now.

I wouldn’t mind a re-recording of ILAV. Don’t get me wrong, I love the original, but I’d also love to hear how it’d sound the way they play now. The live version of I Can Barely Breathe just smashes the original.

I understand a remaster for METN. That album is a little loud to me. I imagine they’d try to dial that back a bit. Idk about Simple Math though. I always thought that record came across flat. Idk what a remaster would do to help that.

I'd rather just get a live in-studio version of those early albums.

Listen, I signed up for their patreon and the organization of it was miserable and the live versions of ILAV that I found were acoustic.

    I want the full-band experience

    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

They’re vinyl remasters not full on album remasters.

No tinkering. No, they aren’t going to rerecord any records.

No Wolves at Night, Every Stone or Deer. We got Top Notch in the spot where Every Stone was, and they encored with I Know How to Speak, so that was cool

What’s up with not playing The Grocery at all this run? They even have lyrics from it on one of the t shirts they’re selling.
