I’m not so sure about that. They need FSU, Texas and Alabama to lose for that to be possible. I don’t see how a team that didn’t win their conference or play in a conference title game gets in over any of those teams if they win out.

 

Day should probably be on the hot seat/fired honestly. Dude does not show up for big games against good teams. No excuses with the teams they’re able to build.

There isn’t an obvious choice to replace Day. He has the program at basically a top five level each year and recruiting is amongst the best. There isn’t a realistic choice that would come in and be at that level, let alone better. Their AD and president combo doesn’t cave to the boosters either, so I feel like they will hold off, which is smart imo.

 

Complacency seems like a bad idea when more teams are joining the big 10 that will start to eat more into their recruiting but that’s just me. They can continue to be pretenders each year, I’m cool with that too

A lot of the sec teams keep their in state rivalry games why not keep it?

they probably will for awhile at least but the media narrative is that the rivalries change because of the conference changes.

 

Non conference schedules have been made a few years out it’s just a logistical thing to try to move or cancel contracts and schedule these games as non conference.
But I’ve also heard from OSU fans that given the state of the program and the inevitably of them being forced into a massive rebuild they’d rather not play the game for the foreseeable future, just not going to be the same

 

the UW-WSU game is on the schedule through 2028 but it’s no longer always the last regular season game of the year for the teams.
