Weird you mention this. In 2034 in my UK journeyman save, in my final FM 23 season. I'm on my fourth year at Arsenal and have won 3 PL's and 2 CL's.

Meanwhile, at Christmas, Norwich and Bournemouth are joined by Spurs, Newcastle, and Chelsea inside the bottom five. I understand things can go wrong for teams, but it's pretty unlikely. Meanwhile all three promoted sides are absolutely fine in midtable.

I have, of course, resolved to lose to Norwich and Bournemouth and smash the others in an attempt to send them down.

lmao I tried that against Liverpool in my prior game. Liverpool basically went bust after signing Bellingham and giving him a mil a week. Played my under 18’s against another relegation candidate and FM’d them with a last minute goal. I was so conflicted.

but yeah, don’t know why Spurs are so bad. Constantly 13-17th but won’t get relegated. We will ignore they beat me three times on the bounce.

Even FM can't calculate the Ange effect.

Harry Kane has now scored more goals in one Bundesliga season than any other English player. Overtook Sancho and Keegan.

ESPN I think had an article highlighting that his goal contribution pace in the league is the best in modern history across any league, or something along those lines

Putting my obvious bias aside, I genuinely hope for a decent game between City and Liverpool. I must admit, it screams "boring early morning stalemate" on paper. Hope I'm wrong, like.

It’s 0°C in London right now. Why am I doing this just to watch us inevitably lose to a late Mbuemo winner?

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Just looked at my FF team and realised that basically every player is in a tough fixture today. It barely feels worth trying to change anything.

The thing to realise this week is most people will be in the same boat.

Nunez trusted to start according to leaks. I know he's showing form, but that's a big call by Klopp if I'm not mistaken @JM95 @Zoshchenko

I'd start him too. He's the best option we have in that spot for running in behind, dragging City defenders out of line and creating space for runners.

Matip at RCB covering Trent when he moves into midfield is a defensive concern with Doku on that side. Alvarez and Bernardo Silva timing forward runs from between the lines probably pulls our midfield back, especially when they look for 2v1s against our full backs. Núñez (and Salah) the outlets at that point.

Be interesting to see how much Klopp risks. If he wants more defensive control then we'll stand off a little, which would suit Matip and Mac Allister. But obviously that means less chance to test their defence. The potential for 3v3s and 4v4s against their defenders is there. On the counter attack, someone like Szoboszlai picking up the ball facing their goal, with Salah, Jota, and Núñez making runs ahead of him, is ideal.

Worst game of the season for me. 10-10 all own goals. 3 reds each please.

Watching this in a pub. Did the sound get cut briefly cause of a weird chant or was it just a technical issue?

Curtis Jones is having a shocker, unsurprisingly. Just not the game for him.

Núñez has made mistakes but he's threatening more than Salah and Jota combined. Salah's depleted dribbling ability is being highlighted against a good 1v1 defender in Ake.

Game plan is fine. Need more 2v1 crossover runs on the counter. Gravenberch and Diaz for Jones and Jota are the obvious changes to make.

FWIW City only spent £10m more than Liverpool on their starting XI today. Hopefully that gets raised post-match by Sky's analysts.

That is very much a goal. But I suspect it will be called off.
