No, you’re right. “Love” is a hair stronger than I’d use, but it’s a fun song.

Ooh good call on “Long Time Comin’”. The riff in that song is so fun. At 2:47 it’s all killer no filler too.

Related-Radio1045 in Philly here, our alt rock radio station, played S'Old yesterday while I was driving. Really cool to hear TBS songs in the wild again.

I haven’t listened to 104.5 in forever. Really cool to know they’re giving S’Old some play.

Yeah they're the only non-sports radio station I really listen to and even that is sparingly these days because their music selection realllllllllly stretches what is "alternative" and they don't really play a lot of the older 2000s stuff that I want to hear haha.

SiriusXM we have in my wife's car and they just lauched Alt2K which is more what I'm looking for. Hell they just played Liar when I was using her car to go pick up dinner last night haha

Nice! Haha yeah I stopped listening to 1045 a few years ago when I realized that I didn’t want to hear “Gold on the Ceiling” and “Riptide” ever again. If I listen to the radio it’s usually to catch a little bit of Preston & Steve after I drop my kids off at school.

313! And I'm pretty sure we have the absolute lowest 'tier' or whatever of service so I think everyone that has sat radio should have it.

Oh good! My mom was just complaining that RockBar 313 disappeared too

Haha yeah I always check 314 and 313 since it's FactionPunk and rock bar, and when I flipped to 313 it was a pop punk song and it said Alt2k and I was like oh shit nice!

Listened to this album during a run today. Amphetamine Smiles and IATOOWKY don’t make great running songs, but everything else works. Still kinda in awe that they were able to crank out something this good at this stage in their career.

We need answers on what that track is that’s playing while John talks about “New Music Friday”, because it sounds amazing.

One of the things this producer really captured about this band is Adam's *noises* he makes before or after or during belting. like his "windup" and how his voice shakes and quivers. This is like THE thing that made them click with me in my adolescence, like how emotional and raw it all is. This may sound like an exaggeration but this record has a vibe that sounds like the TAYF era performance footage. Even if this is all bullshit mumbling, its just so great to love and connect with a TBS record like this again.

I feel the exact same way. Even though the overall sound of the record is far removed from TAYF, it really does have that same energy and brings me back to watching all those bootleg shows like the one from The Tulagi in Boulder from back in 2002. It's one of the reasons I love it so much.

Fun video, John coming out of the coffin and Shaun coming out of that spaceship cracked me up.

My biggest takeaway is once again how vital Mark is to the band. He writes or seems to lay the foundation for some of their best songs. At this point it shouldn't be a surprise that Keep Going, Lightbringer, and The Stranger all originated from ideas he had.

Sounds like we're gonna get some classic TBS b-sides sometime in the future.

Did anybody go to those album play shows? How were they?

IIRC, he and Eddie wrote most of the music for TAYF while John and Adam worked on lyrics/melodies.

I absolutely get that TAYF vibe and I love it. This album takes me back to those days more than any other TBS release, but at the same time it has its own unique sound.
