Couple days late but words can't express the roller coaster of emotions I felt getting a notification that Andre had posted on IG while driving to work, opening it at a red light and seeing that it was an album announcement, being incredibly excited for the next 30 minutes of driving, and then reading what the album actually was

Honestly a bit surprised at some of the reactions in here to the news of an Andre 3000 flute/neo-jazz album. I'm so hyped for it (although I'm no stranger to instrumental music), and I hope there are others like me who are openminded to such a departure. It's really not that crazy to imagine when you have former rappy-rappers like Yachty and Childish Gambino switching up their sound. Even Q-Tip did it with Kamaal the Abstract.

I think those who are conflicted need to listen to this (fantastic) NPR interview. It sounds like it's going to be excellent

 

I think the reactions are the result of him never rapping, not a result of him not rapping on this specifically

Personally I am fine with it

 

also Questlove please make that ambient album you're talking about in your post because holy shit I'd love that.
