Feels kind of toxic to put things like this out there, I would definitely say it's worth rethinking (or rewording at least)

 

AG’s writing has been great the f

 

I haven't noticed a decrease in his writing. I've enjoyed the recent Circa Survive material.

 

I recently revisited LS Dunes lp and his lyrics and imagery match perfectly for the music and vibe they were going for. Plus the recent solo album

 

Yeah the songwriting on his solo album is very good and deeply personal

 

Anthony has been so wildly consistent last few releases from his many projects. Two Dreams, Apeshit, Past Lives, and Boom. Done. all feature some of his best writing IMO. I'm pretty confident that if/when he gets around to Saosin it'll be good shit worth the wait. I wouldn't mind Cove returning, but it's kind of weird thinking Anthony's been phoning it in lately. He's also a dad with a bunch of kids, and at the end of the day, I'd assume a consistent live act who are still growing like LS Dunes is just a better financial decision for him to put his time into than Saosin who are kind of a legacy act at this point whose members all have other shit going on. Wouldn't really call that shenanigans.

 

Yeah all the other members of Saosin have other shit going on in their lives outside of the band. It’s part of why they’ve barely been a touring act still since the Along the Shadow album cycle. This year has been the most active they’ve been since then.

 

It's also really weird to speak on the inner workings of a band you aren't in, we don't know shit

They're playing When We Were Young 2024 with Cove, self titled album in full. Anthony is going to be there with Dunes also.

 

Literally all the other LS Dunes guys were there (Coheed, Thursday, MCR) so basically just pay for Anthony's ticket and slap LS Dunes on there, haha. I do wonder how much longer it will be before Circa shows up to one of these. They have to be getting offers.

 

I don't get the vibes that the Circa guys are ready for anything together anytime soon

Hard to read the tea leaves, but playing with Cove again at a big festival 6 months from now makes me more suspicious that this is a permanent change.

I'd wait an extra year or two for an Anthony record over a Cove one, but if Anthony was never going to happen anyway, I'll take Cove over nothing. I vastly prefer Saosin (even ATS era) to Dunes, but oh well.

 

Anthony liked the Saosin post about the fest so I definitely don't feel there's any bad blood at least. I'm just getting the vibe that they're going to play with whichever vocalist is available for each thing

 

Anthony also promoted the Cove shows when they were announced.

 

Yeah I think it’s in this band’s best interest to just tour with whoever is available. Perhaps they’ll record and release music with whoever is available too. I think it’d be really cool to see them move forward with both vocalists

 

Isn't S/T still their most popular album? It makes sense they're focusing on that material with Cove from a financial point.

 

Yeah, for sure. They’re a bit of a unicorn in that sense, given how popular AG is with them.

One thing I would say is that AG seems to publicly stay on good terms with everyone. This is the same AG that clearly wanted Circa not to break up, judging by his social posts, despite other band members (let’s say Brendan) being done. I guess my point is that him pushing the Cove shows doesn’t mean that he’s going to play a full show with them or record with them any time soon. Obviously none of us know. But the WWWY announcement and the recent Asia tour is clearly more than just availability.

 

Would love an album with a couple of songs with Cove, a couple with Anthony, a couple with both of them and an instrumental or 2.

 

Is this to just cover all your bases or do you really want instrumental Saosin?
