They specifically were asking about your statement on fans disliking him because they had heard otherwise.

At that point the onus is on you to back up your statement.

That's a really well written statement that seriously makes me wonder what could have possibly happened behind the scenes to make the band dismiss him. Clearly he didn't see it coming.

It was Laura Jane Grace in response to Jay's message asking if it sucks to learn things over Twitter and IIRC, calling him a "little bitch boy".

 

I could easily see Jay growing up entitled but at the same time I don’t see any of the Slipknot dudes putting up with any of that - especially Clown because he basically runs the Slipknot machine.

Either way - Jay will be fine. Being in Slipknot substantially raised his profile and he will be in high demand elsewhere. Finding someone to play drums in Slipknot is gonna be tough though. They got Jay because he was a huge fan and relatively unknown (and likely cheap). Curious to see what happens there.

 

I don't know if it'll actually be Mike Mangini but I become more and more convinced that it's someone like that, a top-tier drummer that Slipknot really want to work with who became available and they decided to take the plunge. Because as you say it's not easy to find a drummer that can handle their catalogue.

 

Honestly thought the same thing. They likely wanna work with someone of their age too. Jay was much younger than the rest of them, after all. It might be more beneficial in the long run for Jay to join a band of his generation, I guess.

I thought about Mangini but adding a big name doesn’t seem Slipknot’s style. That could be exciting though!

Someone who could handle their catalogue while adding his own flavor is Eloy Casagrande, but I wouldn't want him to depart from Sepultura as they're such a perfect match.
