This whole time I thought you had a girlfriend..I can't keep everyone's stories straight!

 

I had a thing going with someone when I was back home (back in college now), but we were never official or anything. I kinda lost interest due to personality differences so we don't talk anymore.

 

Matched with someone who is basically perfect, and then find out she was just visiting the area and lives 3 hours away. mewithoutYou is playing a show in her town in two weeks so i think im gonna make the trip down there and try and meet up, if worse case scenario we don't click like we do through text, at least i have their concert to make the trip not a complete bust. But for now:

 

I (knock on wood) feel like my dating life has turned around lately. I last posted about a great first date I had, and I've hung out with the dude a bunch since then and it's all been fantastic. Fingers crossed he's not just really good at hiding being a horrible person.

 

I tried to start a conversation with a girl at work and I didn't notice she had an earbud in and was on the phone. Always awkward as fuck.

it hurts me when i'm ignored, as i've said so many times here haha. i wanna know the truth. it just makes it much easier to deal with to know than not know, even if it's negative. and especially if i've done or said something wrong or hurtful, because i want to admit, apologize, and try not to do it again.

 

We do our best to make our relationship as easy as possible but ugh, distance and time differences really suck

Entirely possible. I don't know if she's now nervous to talk to me because I was fairly cold when she cancelled or whether it's just normal and I'm being weird. Who knows.

More interestingly, I went to a Meetup last night and talked to a load of people, but ended up sat talking to the same girl for ages in the end and she seemed to be quite happy to chat to me rather than interact with the other people who remained. I was a bit drunk and messaged her my number through Meetup while I was on the bus home. She responded, so now I have her number and an opportunity to see if she'd like to go out some time.

I might be miles off, but we seemed to be hitting it off pretty well (one poor guy introduced himself and got a proper double act from us, I don't think he knew what had hit him), so it seems worth a gamble.

 

Re Break-ups:

I just look into their eyes and say, "We're done here, right?" And we usually move on amicably.

 

well I didn't get ghosted. Girl seems into me so far. Gonna see if she wants to hang out friday (thinking coffee and then beach walk?) then come to my apartment to hang out since my housemates normally have people over friday nights -- could be fun. I feel like I'm still trying to figure out what the catch is, cuz she's insanely beautiful aaand a philosophy major.

 

If I can say "cod dammit" after ordering fish & chips on a date and not get left on the spot, that's a good sign
