Just because I'll never go back to Indiana doesn't mean I have to stop loving the Pacers

Probably should have quoted the tweet directly, but the running on ballot initiatives instead seems like where they're gonna go. Just thinking out loud about how they seem to be steering into the initiatives and not even trying to pass a law.

I know how it works. Doesn't mean they should give up or I have to be happy about it.

 

I'd like to see more state level Dems do it if they can. I don't know the makeup of NEvada's but I think they're split govt there. Florida and AZ are Repub control or split so def not happening there. But yeah we won't get it nationally with the current set up. I remember before the 2022 election that was a big point of contention, why aren't we codifying it, and I think there were some rumbles that they didn't have 50 votes for it. Manchin being Manchin

 

Blinkin also apparently said no occupation, no settling in gaza, etc. Not sure what that does to Bibi's plans

 

He also said no blockade and there has been a blockade for 15 years. I do not believe any of the state departments lip service on this

 

Yeah I wasn't sure what he meant there, like is he saying once Hamas is gone you can't blockade them anymore? Idk

 

Why are US politicians so old? And why do they want to stay in office?

Probably a gross oversimplification, but the first thing that comes to my internet melted mind is "Zoomers girls are on Tumblr and Zoomer boys are on 4Chan"

 

But also why are people taking "political leaning of teens" studies seriously? I went through a whole spectrum of political leanings as a teen until I found myself where I am now. Half the kids surveyed are going to think they were a dumbass 5 years from now.

 

super small sample size/mostly just theory but I def feel like there was a good time period there from like 06-17 or so where being an “edgelord” asshole type became less “cool” and accepted over time, but then Trump got elected and a lot of 13 year old boys suddenly found it funny to be racist and sexist and say shit Trump said and etc again. And then they responded poorly to the pushback they’d get from the girls around them as teens do.

but yeah I have no way of proving it. I just remember the kids I was subbing for in the early/mid 2010s def seemed a bit less assholeish than the ones I’ve had the last couple years. Not all of them of course but def more boys that are giving me edgelord asshole vibes of my own school days haha. This year I have a group of freshmen boys that just love to bring up Trump any chance they get because they think it’s funny, especially if any of their classmates hate him.

 

So middle aged resistance accounts have something to complain about
