I thought Anatomy of a Fall was very good, and then saw what people were saying about it and felt like they missed the point entirely.

Other than a bit of a rushed ending, I loved Priscilla last night.

 

What have people been saying and what did they miss? Just curious about your thoughts.

 

I've seen so many people refer to it as a courtroom drama or a twisty thriller and...I don't know what they were watching. It's a movie about marriage and the inherent unknowability of another person. The court stuff is just a vehicle. But I saw a post with a ton of likes saying "Yeah it's just a simple courtroom drama, but bring that genre back!"

 

Oh yeah I definitely agree.

 

I do like that it has a similar structure of Anatomy of a Murder — first ~30min are set-up and nearly the whole rest of it is done within the realm of the courtroom

 

The lesson I learned is that we’re probably going to see this happen again in 3 years and Dune Messiah is going to get delayed

 

The real Dune is the delays they made along the way

I don't know where else to put this, but I can't wait to get Planet Earth 3 in 4K Blu-ray

 

I did not even know that was out yet. Is it streaming anywhere in the US?

 

BBC America and AMC+, but it’s a reference disk for blu-ray players/tvs and I want that to be my first watch through

 

Nature docs are probably the top reason I'm considering a blu-ray player at some point. I'm working my way through Perfect Planet from 2021 and it's already stunning looking on streaming, so I can only imagine how it would look on a better format.

I don't get why this is a thing. Do they get to pay less tax just because they're not letting people see something and instead wasting all of the time and money already put into making the thing?
