I don't really know or care what this argument is about, but between Baldur's Gate 3 and Eternights, I can safely say that video games of today are 100% hornier than ever before.

lol I don't know what either of those games are outside of hype I've seen on meme pages on IG, one of which seems to be some blue lady creature saying she wants to ride whoever the player's character is into hell or something like that. So I will assume you are correct there haha

It’s hilarious too because she was 100% right about the issues she talked about but the chud menace still acts like people wanna embrace their Gamergate/anti-woman bullshit when many people have moved on and don’t care about them.

I haven’t really considered myself a democrat since the 2016 primary but this is by far the most alienated I’ve felt from the party and their base. Since liberals blame the left for Trump, it seems to me that implies that Ds need the left to hold up their big tent. Yet the left is demonized, called incoherent and antisemitic. Why would I ever, going forward, vote for people that hate me?

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters gather in DC, NY, London, as Israel bombs Gaza

“The speeches at Freedom Plaza were full of grief over the destruction of Gaza and anger about the war, but no one who took the stage Saturday condemned Hamas or its attack on Israel, Meredith Weisel, capital region director of the Anti-Defamation League said.“

Why in the hell do you need to include a quote from ADL in your coverage of the Palestinian rally? Hell while you’re at it why don’t you just ask Israel what they think of it? There’s no difference! This is why I push back at every stupid media outlet using ADL comments whenever there’s legitimate antisemitism. They are not credible, they only care about Israel first and foremost.

No! don’t put this out there, now their minions are gonna say that you have to vote for dems because “would you rather things be catastrophically terrible or cataclysmically terrible”

this person’s judgemental tone aside, I think the bigger thing younger people have trouble accepting today is that type of action takes a lot of time to work. Now in this specific situation we might not have a lot of time because Israel could crush Gaza in a matter of weeks/months, but historically those types movements needed literal decades of constant pressure to finally work. Women’s suffrage, civil rights, Vietnam
War protests, etc…all took anywhere from years to decades to succeed. Vietnam War protests were successful in getting an amendment passed in just a few years time so that alone was quite a feat. But the age of instant gratification I think has really sapped people’s ability to get out there en masse day after day after week after month. It’s a little depressing to think about tbh.

I guess arguments can be made that the convo has just shifted from the streets to social media, but not sure that will be disruptive enough to spur action.

That entire post seems unnecessary and just looking for a way to criticize the desperation people feel about this situation. Hundreds of people are being slaughtered every day I’m sorry we’re not feeling the patience the political realists have so expertly realized.

There’s also quite literally no reason for anything to take that long other than the sheer unwillingness of the government to do anything in most situations. They can just pull $14b out of a hat to send to Israel like it’s nothing so I don’t want to hear that it takes years/decades to accomplish something

I disagree that it’s unnecessary, especially considering there’s at least someone out there asking “what else do we have to do”. That’s the most likely answer imo—keep doing what you’re doing and hope it works in time, while also knowing the work you’re doing is on the backs of folks who did it for years or decades to win their issues, so don’t be disheartened that it doesn’t work right away.

Yes! Exactly! And the way you make them willing to do something is direct action that often times takes years and elects the right people and forced discomfort to the point where even the wrong people are like “okay we have to do something about this”.
