Honestly didn't even give this match a single thought until I opened up this thread. Obviously I am delighted ;) but probably more so surprised and a bit confused by Tuchel as well.

Tonight's performance had the look of a team who want to (and know they can) get the manager sacked.

Soooo, Newcastle dump out City and United and get Chelsea away for their troubles. If we win that too (suspect we won't), we've basically just cleared the road for Liverpool to take the trophy. :crylaugh:

This is a good summary of where I'm at I think. Things are getting really ugly, but I still cannot be convinced that sacking the manager will fix anything. It's not worked the previous 4 times and won't this time - we'll be alright for a year or two, then the rot will seep in and we'll be back in the same situation.

Ten Hag might not be the long term solution, who knows, but he needs to see the season out at the very least. Things might get worse before they get better, or might not get better at all, but changing now won't fix anything. Until the sporting structure is sorted, every manager will be in the same situation.

Figure out Sancho and maybe it'll start to turn around?

Sancho with notorious work rate and punctuality issues, that has never shown anything more than 20 minutes of form in England? There's about 7 wingers at United that I'd rather they play.

Shipping Sancho out January 1st to literally any club that will take him should be top of the priority list.

Tbf, due to an injury crisis, United are playing with the shadow of Harry Maguire and a pension-age Johnny Evans at the back.

They’re absolutely awful at times, but I think at full strength they probably don’t look quite this bad.

Along with, at times, no natural LB and a back up RB.

People say "oh well, maybe they might concede but they're also not scoring", but it's missing so much context on how the modern game is played. Defenders are crucial in build up and ball progression (hugely missing Luke Shaw for that), as well as transition play.

Here in Germany we usually say it's a two goal difference for every division that separates both teams. So 0-10 for a club that plays 6 divisions lower is not too bad.

speaking of CD Melilla, I watched this recently and really enjoyed it

i knew Ceuta existed, south of Gibraltar, but i was unaware that Spain had another little autonomous city in Morocco in the northeast corner with Melilla, almost directly south of Almeria

sometimes these little FM narratives are corny but this one was fun for me (as a FM noob) to watch

edit: lol never mind, the video is about UD Melilla not CD Melilla

    either way fun watch

Kind of wild. He made a mistake, sure, but I think the bigger issue was that the VAR officials fucked it up too.

It’s a common thread. VAR officials are making frequent mistakes on what should be obvious calls.

  19. Still wondering how they watched video from several angles of the ball hitting Ayew’s arm and still awarding a goal.

Fatawu for Leicester looks some player. On loan from Sporting Lisbon, I think?
