I can't wait for the Pumpkins to win these crowds over each night.

Seen them 4 times and they always kill it.

Wondering if green day will play welcome to rockville in florida with no florida dates. At least that's my theory

Seeing a hardcore band open for Faye Webster this past weekend was the coolest thing. What’s everyone’s favorite mixed genre show they have been to?

2nd day of WWWY setlist, which I think we can agree is a pretty average GD setlist that hasn't changed in 20 years aside from 21st Century Breakdown & Saviors shit. Putting Welcome to Paradise on Dookie instead of Kerplunk, over half the setlist is ALREADY from Dookie & AI. So either they cut a bunch of dumb shit (covers & King for a Day) & add songs from those 2 albums, or we've never stopped "celebrating" these albums since they were released

The weirdest one for me was probably Cities Aviv opening for Thursday. So many confused people in the crowd.

I saw a magician open for 100 gecs once, which was also very cool.

Another semi-odd fit was Suicide Machines opening for No Doubt in 2000

Love a mixed bill and even the thought of having non-music acts opening is pretty cool, like a stand up opening for some hardcore bands would be sick

I mean, I know I have not ever stopped celebrating them.

I think it made sense in the context of the era? The Suicide Machines had had a bit of mainstream success and were really swinging for it with the record they had out at the time. I'd bet when the tour was booked they were banking on "Sometimes I Don't Mind" being a bit bigger than it got.

That makes more sense than the time I saw Avenged Sevenfold open for the Suicide Machines, TBH. LOL

Run the Jewels opening for Jack White was pretty sick.

I know I've been to plenty of mixed bill shows but that's the only one I can think of right now.

I know radio shows generally don't count in conversations like this but as it was only a 4 band bill I'm'a count it.

The culture clash of the Get Up Kids at their commercial peak playing after Kottonmouth Kings and Nickelback but before Kittie in 5k seat venue still lives rent-free in my head. But that had more to do with the fans than the bands.

Same, no one has & rightfully so! Based on their setlist the past 2 decades they've REALLY gotta do something special to acknowledge those 2 albums & differentiate the setlist. Also agreeing with @ALT/MSC/FAN on if you're not playing the entirety of both albums, this feels disingenuous (I'll never get over The Almost announcing a tour playing Southern Weather in full but leaving "Stop It!" off the setlist)

D.R.U.G.S./Hit the Lights/Like Moths to Flames/Sparks the Rescue will forever be one of my fav tour packages

Like Rats (death metal) opening for Owen.

And this thread is a fucking dumpster fire today.

    Things have changed.

A quote from the Pitchfork article:

With just a week left before the shows, the fans are as anxious as they are excited. “I don’t like the idea of there being a little time left,” Carmen laughs. “The day will come and then what? What am I going to do with so much time at home, now that I won’t have to be making friendship bracelets all day inside a tent? Return to being a normal person?”
