Was wondering how they were doing stadiums but that makes more sense. It's that tricky "celebrating" language but I imagine a good portion from those albums, not in full though.

Anyone ever been to Osheaga festival before? I'd rather drop like a thousand & do a festival weekend vs like 4-5 hundred for one concert

Definitely not in full. But TBH, those albums account for nearly 50% of their setlist on any given show anyway so... Hard to tell what it means in actuality. Maybe it means nothing and its just a marketing gimmick. Maybe they'll actually shuffle up some "tired" parts of the set list finally (e.g., shortening the "King for a Day" segment, cutting the "Know Your Enemy" gimmick, removing "21 Guns" entirely)!

That irritates me so much. You’re either playing the whole albums or you aren’t. Every Green Day set for the last 20 years has heavily skewed towards those two albums. If they’re just gonna play what they normally would + stuff from the new album, then this is just intentionally misleading fans who don’t think about this stuff constantly.

In a surprising twist, my wife texted me about the Green Day dates before I could text her. She mentioned Nashville is the day before her birthday and it would be during Labor Day weekend. Guess I gotta start saving my pennies.

If that's true, that's horseshit. Don't put the album titles on the poster unless you're playing them in full.

Nah, it's a fine thing to do. Your average person doesn't read into word choice on posters the way folks in this thread do.

Yellowcard did the exact same thing last year and nobody gave a fuck or was confused in the general public as far as I can tell.

can't say I'm celebrating my 20 year wedding anniversary unless I'm fully recreating my wedding

  22. I saw lots of confused/mad people about the Yellowcard tour not being the album in full.

I saw absolutely none of that. A few people early on but nobody I knew or saw on socials after that had anything but stoked energy toward that tour. Possibly skewed by the people I follow on socials being less geared toward that kind of music, I guess.

I was talking about the real world. Hah. I dunno, though, whenever I see "celebrating" on a tour poster I just sort of assume it's not getting the full album play treatment.

I learned that lesson back in like, 2016 or whenever Cursive did their "celebrating" the Ugly Organ tour.

celebrating certainly makes it seem likely they won't be playing them in full. while i have no clue how long their typical headline sets are, the fact that the albums are 1h 36m total plus they will have a new album to promote makes it even less likely.
