People like to critique the MCU on needing you to watch previous content to understand it, but I guarantee this is not true and I will put my mom before a court as Exhibit A to plead my case.

How many films did you need to know for Infinity War?

I don't think required viewings are the issue.

My (maybe) controversial opinion is that I am not that invested in Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. After 1 solo film, a crossover, and the trailers for this, I just am not feeling her take on the character. She's solid in other films, but it feels like she hasn't developed an identity for Carol and is just going straight from the script. I'd more than happy to come out of this film feeling the complete opposite.

I'm watching this solely for Ms Marvel and it isn't even her film. I may even be more interested in how Monica is handled than Carol. I enjoyed her more in WV than I did Carol in CM and Endgame.

It feels more like the direction she’s given than anything. We know she has charisma and charm from stuff like “21 Jump Street,” but it’s rarely used at all as Capt. Marvel. There’s nothing from the trailer that suggests it will be any different here.

She is also tired of online hate from fucking dweebs. I don’t blame her.

Just to be clear, this wasn’t aimed at anybody here.

I mean you should watch WandaVision because it’s entertaining but do you really need to see just to understand anything here? Theyre still going to reintroduce the audience to Rambeau anyway

This is exactly my point. I think the films and shows have done a relatively good job of giving enough information within each individual work to not need to be "up to date" to understand and enjoy them.

not sure about that. Fury ends that show exactly where he started.

A new book on the MCU revealed that she is still up in the air with her long term stay in the franchise due to it.

Production on The Marvels seems to have been more enjoyable for her at least.

That’s great news because I have no interest in finishing secret invasion.

Is there anything of value in Secret Invasion beyond the big reveal of who was replaced by a Skrull? I haven't gotten around to it but multiple outlets literally just put the reveal in a headline and posted it to social which killed any desire for me to watch it.

Your mileage may vary. My fiance and I really liked Secret Invasion and thought it was way better than FATWS

Yeah I may be being a little too harsh. I did enjoy it for the most part but I didn’t pay as close of attention as I did with the other shows. I liked a lot of the acting from Sam Jackson in the first few eps.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

For the first three or so episodes it felt like a pretty refreshing show for Marvel and then it fell off a cliff. And I think every episode got shorter as it went. Weird
