I start to think that bands on the side stages should have different set times between day 1 and day 2, that way bands like Kennyhoopla, Lit, Joyce Manor could have a better/bigger crowd the next day.

 

Is Cupid’s Chokehold, Billionaire, and Stereo Hearts the actual full GCH set list? Lmao

Felt like half the crowd left after Blink. Pro tip for anyone going tomorrow pink side emptied out big time.

I can't fucking believe it. I left green day early. Once stupid same old fucking set was confirmed and the 20th heyyyyy oh my body and brain said.....were done.

Full domotime review coming later. This was a blast! Soooo much fun but im dead and need a huge ice cold diet coke

 

Fuck it let's get it over wirh.

Got to venue at 930am and got fully in venue at 1050 (they let people in at about 1040, so they did it early which was smart)

Fenix rx. EXACT start to the show i wanted. Yours truly got the pit going and my euro pals helped do the rest. Huge bucket list band and it was fun. Small crowd but fun. Fenix tx took a small shot at the lead singer not being there lol

Ataris. Wow. Crowd was dead for them. Started with the four biggest hits and idk, I was shocked the crowd didn't care.

Motion city soundtrack. Pierre using a cane :( crowd started a little soft and now I was getting worried...but crowd picked up at the end and this was a blast. Solid normal set.

SoCo. A nice break lol they sounded great and anytime I can hear woke up in a car in a happy dude.

Nfg (no Michelle branch). No Chad :( crowd was obviously hot and fun. Nfg is an easy always delivers kind of band. Only hits and let it go.

Xxxxx break time. Today was FUCKING HOT. I was cooking. The sun headache was beginning. I also noticed how enormous this venue was and how many people were fucking here.

Finch. Awesome..probably my favorite set of the day. Sounded as tight as ever and the crowd was shockingly HERE for it. I left halfway through what it is to burn.

Goldfinger. Had no trouble running over. I'm glad i did it. Feldy is a pro. Crowd was hot. TONY HAWK singing superman!!! Yes

Xxx break time. Hot dog. Decided to NOT SEE SUM 41! this venue is too big and the thought of going through a giant ser to see a band I've seen 6x times...skip.

Mxpx. Audio issues! Small fun crowd but the audio issues were a problem. This was kind of a disappointment.

Good Charlotte. I've never seen them ever. Actually totally fun. I also had ZERO issue getting fairly close for good Charlotte. Found a small crew to do a mini pit to little things...I'm complete.

30 seconds to Mars. Lmao

Offspring. What happened!!!??? The crowd at this point of the day died. Not only died. They turned on me? I was also running on fumes but I love offspring.....and got bizarre looks for moshjng to them? This was shocking. All day people were cool and moshing and having a good time but wow wtf. Offspeing was quick and easy but the crowd was a bummer.

Blink. Same with the crowd being dead now. They were awesome. The stage lighting was cool but crowd didn't react to anything. At this point I had a headache and didn't care about moshing...but everyone was kinda sleeping. Yeah set seemed a tad short

Green day. I'm so fucking tired of this set. Crowd woke up again but I just can't with the woahs . Also at this point the headache was real. It was time to call it a day. I rocked out to burnout and that was my finale

Long long long long long day! Anyone doing two days God bless you. Overall a total blast. I met a ton of fun people all day, lots of international love. I am sore. I am toast.

 

Honestly, it felt so crowded in the pit for the main stages that there just wasn’t room to mosh.

I was probably about 75 feet from the stage for Blink, and I was grateful that there weren’t any pits near me. We didn’t have any room to move if one started.

 

Left after about an hour of blink, am about to catch a red eye home. Side stages were ideal this year, great day.

 

Echoing the Gym Class weirdness.

Sat next to All Time Low on the plane into town and confirmed GCH got kicked off their tour for the Avril comments

Fast forward to today when The Academy Is brought out Gabe to sing Bring It. They both acted like Travis was coming out and referencing him but then he didn’t… it was weird because either A. He was planned and no showed or B. Was never planned to join, but then why act like he’s coming out

Then onto GCH set. Four songs and they ended in 19 minutes when they had a 30 minute set blocking. Sigh

 

Nah there was another in there but they did only play 20 out of their 30 minute timeslot

 

Kind of a bummer neither headliner did anything special to acknowledge the theme of the fest.

Blink’s set was the exact same as what they’re doing on tour and 50% of Green Day’s has been the same schtick since Bullet In A Bible.

Green Day’s 2nd last song was Homecoming which is an odd choice to bring back a 9-minute deepcut that absolutely no one knew and then just end the show with Good Riddance. Totally killed any ending momentum.

Their start time was 10pm but of course they hit the stage ar 10:10pm after playing Bohemian Rhapsody over the speakers in full, followed by drunk bunny Blitzkreig Bop, followed by their intro theme for 10 mins. Missed opportunity

 

Lol well is Green Day playing the same boring setlist or adding back in a 9 minute deep cut that kills the momentum? Feels like they can't win either way

Alright fellow freaks, I barely slept and now im flying into vegas and going straight to the fest.

Watching thousands of people leave right after Blink was really funny to me.

Cool recap but I think your headache biased you. I also had a ripper of a headache due to the heat and alcohol, but thanks to some medicine I was back to life around 6 and I thought blink was epic and the crowd around me was totally into it. Overall I agree with a lot of your post but mostly that it was a blast. Tiring. But a blast.
