At some point the NBA needs to completely ban players from playing and being associated with the league in any manner. As someone who would give anything to be a professional athlete, I cannot stand players who take what they have for granted. There are literally billions of people in the world who want the life they have, and they constantly spit that opportunity in the face of others.

 

I agree that the league deserves some shit for even allowing him to come back. I’m sure they’d have copped some shit from the NBAPA but I think this is one of the few instances where the nbapa could be told to eat it

I agree completely. The whole thing has been handled so poorly. There is no excuse whatsoever for what he did, and the lack of real consequences is staggering. Being a professional athlete is 100% a privilege, and as poor a decision as Charlotte made in signing him again, they never should've had the option if the league actually took things as seriously as it should.

He can complain all he wants. He could have declined his option and became a free agent. It's no ones fault but Harden's that no team wants to give him a max

oh, for sure. he's a bozo. and if he played well enough and wasn't clearly on his 9th life in terms of basketball, the money would be there for him.

but that doesn't erase morey, who he had every reason to believe based on their prior relationship, promising him one thing to get him to try to push them into the playoff and save morey's job and then yanking the carpet out from under him. it's a real "worst person you know made a great point" scenario.

Daryl Morey has a massive history of stuff like this lol. That was a reason it was tough to get free agents at times in Houston.
