yeah AXS is definitely the RC Cola to Ticketmaster's Coca-Cola

  2. Maybe just put Anberlin on hiatus and bring back (the better band) Acceptance full time, k thanks

I will say this re: Matty Mullins and Anberlin.

Anberlin have been a favorite band of mine since 2005. I’m heartbroken to see Stephen go on hiatus, but I know it’s not for nothing.

Mullins has been known to be a massive tool (especially during the Warped Tour years). What I have heard though, as I don’t follow Memphis May Fire, is that he’s apparently changed for the better. Much more kind, approachable, and has moved on from his problematic ways. Great. We love to see personal growth.

While I’m not initially THRILLED that they chose him, if you go back and watch some videos of him performing with Anberlin earlier this summer, he’s undeniable. If anyone is gonna step in for Stephen, they found a damn good replacement for their sound.

Low Demand for Travis Scott Creates Liquidity Crisis in Ticket Reselling Economy

This is both infuriating and also hilarious. I have been a proponent of tickets being priced at market value (much to the dismay of this thread) but stuff like this is what makes it impossible to determine what actual market value is:

"At least part of this buying frenzy was fueled by a bet placed by PFS Buyers Club, a credit card maxing site I wrote about earlier this week that has recently pivoted from buying rare coins to buying concert tickets. PFS told its members to buy as many tickets to Scott’s shows as possible, according to emails viewed by 404 Media. PFS itself stands to lose more than $1 million on Travis Scott alone when all is said and done, it told members."

If you want a good laugh, go look at the two Raleigh shows this weekend. Friday is painted red, Saturday is virtually unsold. Not sure how they even open the arena for the second show.

Not a big fan of Stephen, always thought he has held Anberlin back. Interest to see what an Anberlin 2.0 could be as they’ve been trending much harder on the last few eps

Weird because the NYC-area shows are all doing fairly well. I do think there is a conversation to be had, as uncomfortable as it is, that some hip-hop shows may not scale the same way across the country as other genres.

Was shocked the loge seats were normal price for MXPX at HOB Orlando and not some outrageous Platinum price like they usually are. Only paid $50 after fees for each one.

  10. I saw Anberlin a bunch in the Cities era and a few times later on, and I've never thought they were a particularly great live band. Stephen is a great vocalist on record, but something just never translated live for me. They were never mixed in a way that let him cut through the intense parts. I'm a little curious how they would be with a different vocalist, but Matty Mullins is definitely not my first pick.

Funny how the Travis Scott arena tour isnt selling that well, when originally they were aiming for NFL stadiums.

This thread is gonna be hilarious when it gets announced that Matty Mullins & the Emo Orchestra are joining Dance Gavin Dance to headline The Sphere with Travis Scott as the opener

The Travis Scott tour is so strange, tickets to see him across the south are like $8-9 on StubHub, the Toronto shows start at $140 (most expensive on the tour)

Toronto, Vegas, LA, Seattle, Philadelphia, Chicago, and NYC are the only shows with tickets selling above face value on StubHub.

Miami isn't 7 dollars low. But you can get in for 35 dollars. Tickets originally started at 95. Only pit tickets have stayed there normal price.

Live in Raleigh and was talking to a coworker this morning about this. Was incredibly surprised when they announced that they added a second show as I didn't think he had that big of a draw especially here. Thought maybe night 1 sold crazy well but looking at ticketmaster that doesn't seem true. I love living here but I honestly don't know anyone that could pull 2 nights unless it's an absolutely huge act, certainly not Travis Scott apparently lol

Sleep Token has a significantly bigger US tour planned for the Spring. Trying to figure out where I think they play next. Their 1k-3k cap tour literally sold out instantly.

I could see Sleep Token and Bad Omens doing a coheadliner and it doing well. I feel like their fanbases probably have a ton of crossover.
