Just bought 2 amazon lightning cables a few hours ago, before I saw the posts. Now I'm happy and relieved.

 

I snagged some Spigen ones for like $5 on Amazon. Also check out Anker if you want a couple other options.

 

Anyone know how Verizon's program works where you get an iPhone 7 and trade in your 6 for a 650 dollar credit? I just received my 7+ and was told by a Verizon representative when I ordered it that there would be a code or some instructions with my new phone but I can't find anything.

 

My brother is planning on getting the new MacBook Pro later this month, and I'm jelly. Still running my early-2011 model.

 

If it wasn't for a couple of unfortunate water spilling events my wife would still be rocking a late 2008 model. I wish she still had that 08 model.

I've had my phone for a week and haven't even noticed the absence of a headphone jack - I use bluetooth headphones when I'm walking around outside, have the adaptor attached to my Klipsch earbuds I use when I'm after better sound quality, and keep the supplied lightning earbuds in my handbag as well just in case. It's required maybe 5% more thought/planning on my part than if the phone had a headphone jack, really not as big of a deal as I expected it to be.

Growing increasingly more excited about the AirPods, too. I feel like they're really going to be great for listening to music/podcasts at the office without appearing too aloof or unapproachable, especially with that one-in-one-out feature.

 

totally agree on the aloof thing. can't wait for the day where you dont have to look like an idiot trying to pause music when someone surprises you.

 

I just preordered the Nike Apple Watch 2, and I'm super excited to start using it. It will be my first Apple Watch, and since I've started to get into running as a hobby within the last 3 months or so, I think this is a great choice. One of my friends from work ordered one as well so that helped push me over the edge since I will be able to compete with him with the app or whatnot. I kinda wanted to buy the one with the weird green band just for the hell of it, but I went with the all black one(still with the holes in the band). Maybe I can buy the green band separate...... and you better believe I will be swapping out bands to something more normal if I chose to go out socially. I should get it on 11/11.

This is interesting. Looks like the onscreen home button may end up being a thing for next years phone. Wonder what it takes for the "button but not really button" on the 7 to fail.

 

Very cool. I have been upgrading my phone every year the last few years, but I think I will buy next year's iPhone and hold onto it for a long time. I'm excited to see a redesign.

 

I'm pretty excited to see what type of form factor the new one will have, along with what feature set it will come with. Brought water proofing to the 7, maybe wireless charging to the 8?

 

I hope so. Wireless charging makes sense now with the removal of the headphone jack. I can't imagine many people rushing out to buy a $50 dock just to simultaneously charge and listen to music through the lightning port.

iLDOCK - charge and listen to iPhone 7 at the same time

 

If I'm in album view on iTunes/Apple Music on the Mac and just click on a song within the album, it won't just play the next song from the album after. Instead, it plays the next song that's listed alphabetically in my entire collection. Has anyone else had this happen?
