Damn, Patsy Cline is one of my favorites off NCTH

It's the only TWY song I've never fully loved. Definitely enjoy it better live than on the record though.

Going through a lot of The Upsides Live videos for shits and giggles and as cheesy as this fucking record is it still so fucking good.

Skimming through and not seeing anything mentioned about TWY. Mind pointing me in the right direction? I just went to the regular Yellowcard thread

If Cody ever matures and/or gets the help he needs, I think the band has a good chance at returning at some point.

Even if he doesn't, they will deal with him for that 10 year tour cash.

I'm not sure about that. That's not that far off and RFTS is loved around these parts, but it's not a huge and widespread known record that would allow them to bring in hoards of dollars off a cross country reunion tour of it. They'd make money, but enough for them to be together for 3 weeks when they all still can't stand each other? Probably not.

I want that (preferably sans Cody) more than most scene reunions

I think Cody is an essential piece of the band. It wouldn't be the same if he wasn't there. I wouldn't want to see them without him. That said, I would only feel morally OK seeing this band again if he were to come out and state that he sincerely apologizes for what he did /said in the past and has taken the steps necessary to ensure similar things do not happen again.

I think AJ the most essential. I would've said the drummer too, but they had a different drummer each album. That said, I feel the drumming was way more crucial to the band's sound than their guitars

I only agree with that statement for RFTS. The other two albums have great drumming, particularly Golden Record, but I don't think it plays as big of a role as it does on RFTS.

Fair enough - RFTS has some of the more impressive drum work from the genre - but I would still consider it a more integral aspect of their sound than the guitars

Oh, no doubt, that RFTS is an absolute CLINIC in how a drum-set should be played. Even those considered 'scene classics' (although I'd argue RFTS itself is one) do not even come close to the drumming on RFTS.

That might sincerely be the best part of that album. I will say that GR had some really great stuff going on too

No. Question. This might be a bold statement, but if that album was stripped down to just the vocals / lyrics and the drumming it would still find a way to be an incredible album.

I think around the time NCTH I was getting a bit burnt out on these guys after like 6 years of being one of my most listened to bands. After a reprieve of almost a year from The Wonder Years, I spun their records again and remembered exactly why I will always love these guys. Dan's lyrics still resonate with me in a way that nearly no other vocalist matches, their rhythm section is one of the best in the scene, and unlike a lot of other bands I think they make 3 guitars actually work well (especially on TGG). While I'm still not completely sold on NCTH, a year removed I like it a lot more than I did originally.

Also looking on Instagram and saw a picture of Soupy's wedding. Noticed that Nick, Casey, Josh, Matt, and Kennedy were all his groomsmen which made me smile.

Will never attend Sherman Theater again. Really hope the band doesn't head back there on future tours. Most unprofessional, obnoxious, and downright violent security I've ever witnessed.
Besides that, so sick they covered Anchor last night! Didn't think I'd ever see that.

  25. Been waiting almost a full 7 years to see these guys live. Narrowly missed out on a ticket to their most recent Dublin show, touring TGG. The place they played in was somewhere I hadn't been before, but I went there for something else and it turns out it is an absolute dive. Got a ticket to their Empire Music Hall gig in Belfast, 29/1/17. I have SO MUCH to make up for. Can't wait.
