That's....fine I guess but they're still all able to be transferred so it doesn't curb any resale.

 

For the new Noah Kahan tour, you have to present the ID used to purchase tickets and if you want to re-sell them, it has to be at the price you bought it. The Cure did the same thing for reselling, but not the ID thing (and I’m not sure IDing would work for a tour with young fans like the GUTS tour will have)

All that to say… the 72 hour thing is worthless, scalpers will just send out the tickets 72 hours before. There’s more that can be done!

 

There's a very easy loophole here that scalpers are utilizing. They're buying the tickets, then creating dummy TM accounts and transferring 2-4 tickets to each dummy account. Then when they sell the tickets they provide the purchaser the login info for the dummy TM account and they enter the event using that account. After the event the scalper changes the login info and locks the purchaser out and they can begin the process all over again.

There is a very simple fix here but few acts want to take that risk. Make all tickets day of will-call only at the venue (works only for smaller venues) or make the name on the tickets match the name on the persons ID and make it so tickets cannot be transferred. Again, that creates a whole different set of potential issues.

 

Curious to know what % of Olivia Rodrigo tickets are on resale. If it's like the Eras tour where it was only 1-2% I think the demand was just crazy high.

long and short they kicked him out cause they don’t agree with his opinions and values he has been pushing on the band and the narrative of what he wants the band to be.

 

It’s just shocking cause their album comes out today, after Lorna Shore they are probably the second biggest deathcore band out there right now and (I guess I can say it now) they were going to be opening for Lamb of God on their 2024 headliner. Props to the band for taking a stand but I’m sure this will hurt them quite a bit. But props to them all for standing up for what they believe in, instead of just going with the flow for the fame.

The full scope of his politics aren't really known, but last month he reposted a Matt Walsh video and said trans-inclusive parents "should be set on fire," so it's pretty clear he's at least transphobic, and based on this statement by the band, probably a full-on fascist/reactionary.

 

yea like he isn’t right wing? Per say or at least on some stuff, like he is one of those “ I hate all politicians” and they had a song on the last album about trump being a piece of shit and trying to spread racism and hate etc. but yea like if you asked most people before based on lyrics the transphobic thing came out of nowhere, but obviously he was trying to change the narrative of the band, or force his ideaology.

 

Didn't he say some bad transphobic shit? Or am I thinking of someone else?
