Just reading this headline made me more excited than possibly anything else I've heard.

Kind of kidding, but for real that is great.

Im expecting this to be better than TFA

 

the trailer made it look a little generic. cinematography is gorgeous

 

Can't wait for this.

never ending star wars hype aside this looks really good
cinematography looks incredible
story looks like what im looking for
im so onboard

being years into star wars season and having no forseeable end is exhausting

but so great

 

So is everyone here more excited for this than the episode next year?

All bias aside like say you didn't see the trailer for this.

 

I'd say I'm still a little more excited for episode VIII, just because I really want to see what Rian Johnson does with the story.

 

Yeah same but it just seemed like everyone was more excited for this.

 

People may seem more excited for this because it's two months away, instead of fourteen months away like Episode VIII.

Also, there's no real promotion for VIII yet. We haven't really seen anything for it.

 

i don't see the collective hype for VIII being anywhere near where it was for VII.

My personal hype will be close though, with Johnson at the helm, the V comparisons/darker tone comments, and the fact that it's building on a super solid VII.

 

Definitely stoked for what Rian Johnson has in store. I think everyone is just focused on this one since it's so close

 

Force Awakens was on tv last night and I watched the second half. Such a great movie. Definitely reminded me how excited I am to see where the story goes.

Also side note: X-Wing greatest sci fi ship of all time. All the X-Wing scenes in that movie are unreal.

 

I would say I'm more excited about this, and future non-trilogy movies, than I am about VIII and IX. still definitely looking forward to those, but I always enjoyed the non-skywalker focused stories in the EU more.

 

I heard two fun fan theories/speculation this past week.

1. The Death Star weakness was actually intentional, assuming Jyn's dad was forced to help build it and it was his way of rebelling even as he helped them.
2. The death troopers are the last of the clones. Due to their aging they would be dying off and help explain why death troopers aren't a thing in OT.

 

I can't say I'm even remotely interested in the Han Solo movie....or the rumored Yoda movie. Literally hundreds of better characters to expand on.

 

The only I thing that interests me about the Han movie is the Millers involvement.

 

Yea, I can't say I'm excited about that one. It's Star Wars, so I'm sure I will eat it up. But I have no huge desire to see a young Solo film.

 

I think the first point makes sense, seems pretty obvious. Plus they can retroactively explain why there is a dumb exhaust port in the first place lol

 

Yea, the first one is highly likely. The second one if pretty fan wanky, but it could be fun.

 

Well, we know that Vader's Fist was made up of members of the 501st, eventually replaced by recruited mercenaries and others following Jango's death in AOTC.

 

Is that canon?
