What's up everyone. I changed my name and put out a new song the other day. It doesn't have a lot of listens, so it'd be cool if that changed.

 

Just started writing the title track to our next album, “The Manufacture of Cool”. Was lying in bed trying to sleep when the chorus suddenly hit me. So I got up and wrote it down, if I write down the lyrics I remember the melody instinctively.

 

I helped this band (Wilder) with the artwork and social media graphics for their EP release.

One of my bands released a new EP today. I recorded and mixed this myself, which has been a great learning experience and I'm looking forward to building up those skills even more on future projects.

For nearly two years, I've ran a Song Shop where I (and sometimes collaborators) write and record personalized songs for people, with whatever lyrical topic and genre requested. These have usually been birthday gifts and wedding anniversary presents, but people have also ordered songs for themselves, as gag gifts between friends, and I've even scored a short film.

Today, I've announced that the Shop Shop is switching to a pay-what-you-want model, which is written about in detail here:

I love writing music for people and don't mind getting paid only a small amount to do so. The amount you want to pay might cause the scope of the song to fluctuate, but it won't alter the quality I put into the songwriting.

Just made my first ever album and put it on bandcamp. Been going through a lot emotionally over the past few months, including the death of my grandmother, and this music was a great cathartic outlet for all of that. Hope you enjoy at least some of it!

I've posted about Why Bother Records stuff in here before and people seemed to dig it, so here's some news:

We signed a solo artist named Staten. Think old school Dashboard Confessional but more somber with a lot of R&B flair. His album 'Saint' is one of my favorite things that came out this year, and I'm stoked to release the new stuff which blows it out of the water.
