So happy for them - Become one of my favourite bands very quickly these past few years

Really liked BFE and still not sure about this one. I was definitely surprised by the lighter music. I wouldn't describe them as distraught Menzingers on this like I did previously.

They are still very distraught though. I think I'm in too happy of a place in my life to love this record right now. But I'll spin it some more.

Only a couple of listens so far. Seems like two songs are the same story but from the two different characters' perspectives? If so thats cool I look for to digging in a little more.

I don't know if I just didn't pay attention but I did not know they had a synths player until this album lol. Loving the prevalence of them here

Nope but they've been having issues all year. Hope it's not a 3 month wait like Drain was.

I hate my life which is probably a big part of the reason why I love this band the way I do

They were great last night supporting Hot Mulligan. As I was leaving I heard two guys saying their new stuff sounds better live than on record. I think they meant it as a slight on the record, but I agree despite really liking it.

The songs had more power live for sure.

is it the same for you? Prestigious

Maybe, in a year or two, they can do a No Joy Etc. that's a heavier version of the songs.

Finally listened to this. Was worried about the lack of fast guitars on the little bits I had heard - but overall was pleasantly surprised. Definitely is different but the vocals and songs are still great. I dug it.

Still really enjoying it but would love an ETC version that’s more loud guitar.

Even the explosion of sound in “Re-Emerging” at 1:36 is all I’m looking for in a lot of these songs. The songs themselves are fantastic, the lyrics are devastating and it flows amazingly well together. I just want some of the bang.

Might be the first time I end up skipping the opener on purpose then. Funny how HAM are over SLS in the US and under them in the UK/Europe.

  14. Oh ew I have to sit through that fucking terrible band in Berlin? Sucks.

Gave my first full-album listen last night.
I see Pendulum as the album's motto with the line "I know what they say when I walk in the light / Thеre's no joy "
Clean-Up Crew is hitting very close right now.
Love the line "The pain is everywhere, why are you searching?" in Rapture Chaser.

I'll also be at the show. First headline show finally after seeing them 3 times as openers/support. Were you at the Hot Mulligan show on Wednesday, too?

  17. Nope! Haven't seen Hot Mully yet. Might do if they come back next year.

This album still hasn’t clicked with me after being a huge fan of BFE. It just slows down to many times for my liking. Definitely some great songs here though.

Well in the US HAM is playing between SLS and HM so there’s no avoiding them and most of us would rather not be subjected to their problematic, shitty ass music lol

Honestly I’m too old and my feet hurt if I go to an entire show lol I’ll go to openers if I want to see them but now I’ll just skip them.
