I do this with a lot of their songs. blink has always had some killer harmony parts.

Yeah, I get people wanting Mark and Tom trading verses, having solo songs, but I'd love for some great harmonies (Man Over, Feelin This). Just seems to be such a great portion of who they are with how contrasting their voices are.

In those two of those new clips posted yesterday, it sounded like Tom and Mark were doing this and it got me pumped. In the "This time I won't be complacent(?)" one, they were singing harmonies. In the "You don't know what you got" it sounded like they were singing octaves in unison.

I can think of about two instances in all of Neighborhoods/DED where they did that...

I don't seem to dislike Neighborhoods as much as other folks in this thread, but that being said, Mark's harmonies in the verses of Ghost on the Dancefloor are probably some of my all-time favorites.

I'm a big sucker for trading off vocals and harmonies. I will take all the things haha

Old. I thought it was a longer lyric lol. Thought it’ll be cool if we heard it on the new single.

That example in "Ghost On The Dancefloor" is good. There's just not too many other examples of harmonies compared to their older albums - almost every song had them layering with each other.

    "Natives" chorus
"Up All Night" chorus (that might just be Tom layering harmonies though)
    "This Is Home" chorus
"Love Is Dangerous" verses (sung in unison with octaves)

    That's about it.

“Emo” and “Not Now” have my favorite harmonies.

  14. "Not Now" is definitely one of the best harmonies for sure

I still get goosebumps everytime Mark comes in on the first verse of Ghost On The Dance Floor.

song is also proof that any AVA song could be better/ more effective as a Blink song ran thru the Hoppus filter

I swear there was an interview where they mentioned that the a cappella part wasn't intentional. Like they dropped the music or something and were like "whoa, that sounds cool. Let's keep it"

Just googled "blink 182 pet sounds" and found this little gem of info:

"True Story," he wrote. "Vasectomy Vasecta-you was once a title option for a blink-182 album." Though the vocalist/guitarist didn't reveal which album almost had this, um, interesting name, a 2003 Billboard interview reveals that it was an option for the pop-punks' brilliant Untitled album (which, considering its much darker material, is pretty damn surprising).

Tom had previously told the publication that as well as Vasectomy Vasecta-you, blink had also come up with the (rejected) titles Diarrhea de Janeiro and Our Pet Sounds.

  20. “When we were recording the untitled record,” Hoppus continues. “The first single off of that was a song called ‘Feeling This.’ At the end, there’s this six-part harmony with different calls and responses. That was just a total happy accident in the studio where we were getting to the end of the song and composing it and trying to figure out the different sections and stuff. Our engineer accidentally automated a fade and left off the vocals so all of the music faded out and the vocals were still doing this harmony thing. We were like, ‘that’s really cool, let’s expand on that.'”

    EDIT: found the clip

The harmonies in the chorus of Online Songs (even though it's Mark-on-Mark) I feel are incredibly overlooked/underrated.
