Thrawn has been my next door neighbor the whole time!?! I thought that guy was just a big Arrested Development fan…

Star Wars doing Space Whales now. I see Filoni has been watching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Mando has like multiple per season lmao including in his BOBF episode. it's a fun trope sometimes and it's cool in the OT but I'm getting a little tired of them taking up space that could be used for like, character development and stuff

they've been in Star Wars before, this is just the first live action appearance in full view

Counter: it is possible to have space fights and have character development. Example: this episode allowed us to see Ahsoka and Sabine’s dynamic in a fight together. Ahsoka starts with treating her like a padawan, telling her to anticipate and all that. It doesn’t work. This approach is likely partly why things fell apart last time between them. Then, calling back to her earlier convo with the droid whose name I don’t care to attempt to spell, about Sabine not needing to be a jedi, but needing her to be her true self. Ahsoka shifts gears and rather than instructing Sabine, she asks her what she needs. Everything changes with this and suddenly they’re kicking ass. That’s good stuff. And at the end of the day, it looked cool, too.

  5. I do like that this show is leaning into the idea that anyone can be a jedi/use the force. Always felt like Ep9 effectively backtracked on that idea.

Personally I'm still not getting why Filoni went with Sabine training to be a Jedi but I'll just go with it at this point haha. This was a cool episode, some pretty unique action scenes for the franchise and the visuals continue to be beautiful

They're doing such a good job with the Rebels characters especially, MEW captures Hera so well

Also really wish this, and most the shows, were more than 8 episodes. I loved that Andor had 12 and really had time to breath and build the characters and story. With 8 it feels like everything needs to be rushed to move things along

Solid episode with some fun action. Ahsoka's spacewalk was fun, it felt like the playful and daring side of her that's been missing from this version of the character. Ahsoka and Sabine learning to cooperate during the dog fight was a nice arc.

I think I can see the motivation for Sabine training to become a Jedi. It's most likely her feeling a need to feel connected with Ezra since he disappeared. I'm guessing finding him will help her connect with the force. Having Ahsoka take on a padawan is a nice parallel to her Clone Wars story. The blind-training was a little eye-rolling at first, but it ended up playing out differently from A New Hope, so I think it was a nice twist on what we know rather than cheap nostalgia.

The live-action Purrgil were great. Though I hope there's a little more color in their design later, but the environment for this scene was supposed to be gloomy, so I'll let it slide.

  12. Ahsoka is the worst part of a good show so far. Just do not buy Dawson as the character.

    Show needs more chopper though.

Just noticed on the closed captioning in Season 6 Episode 5 that a doglike creature chasing Anakin and Padme is called Marrok

  21. That droid Huyang can scrap ha. I must've missed the line explaining why Hera would bring her son on a dangerous mission.

    Sabine what have you done????

Fuck. Sabine, why? She failed the test Ezra passed in the Rebels finale. But hearing that her family is dead now and Ahsoka was involved in the circumstances is intriguing. Gotta think some flashbacks are coming sooner than later.

And holy shit! Although, when the screen cut to black, the subtitles said “Vader theme,” so that’s not really Anakin. That’s Vader. Honestly Anakin or Vader being in the world between worlds is… troubling?
I’m still sticking with the purrgils jumping the Ghost to the unknown regions.
