I think the letter thing stopped at untitled. That supposed h is a pretty big reach lol

Not sure, possibly. But the ones with just random letters in the words and not the letter the album title starts with and the untitled h just don’t seem very likely to me

 

Did I read somewhere that it was supposed to be a homage to Jerry Finn? I may be wrong…

 

yeah the J was intentional but then fell off again when DED came out. Mark said the embellished “K” on DED counted but Cali and Nine he said they just forgot.

Would be really cool to get the alphabet theory going again on this new one.

Mark also said they just forgot the H on Untitled. I jokingly said it’s the missing H in the word “head” when Tom sings “yead” and Mark laughed.

 

Isn't the H inside the B on untitled?

 

I've never bought into the whole alphabet thing, honestly. I think the band wasn't really even aware of it until after they broke up, so intentionally they put a J on the cover of Neighborhoods, as a tribute to Jerry and as a nod to the alphabet truthers.

 

I'd align with this view.

 

Explain TOYPAJ

 

I mean the jacket is green lol. If the alphabet theory was a real thing the band were purposely doing, why would they just start with the letter being on the cover for the first one, then randomly just have the letter be the first letter of the title instead, and then back to the letter being on the cover somewhere again? Never made much sense to me

 

From what I remember Mark said A through F were just a coincidence, but they did intentionally add the G.

 

G and J were 100% intentional and have been talked about by the band. The others are all pure coincidence and/or speculation.

Kinda wild that A through F worked out so coincidentally.
