I've been hearing surprisingly good things about the Offspring tour both in terms of attendance and the performance. Worth going?

Will he be reading lyrics off of an iPad for this one, too?

Yes! Sum 41 and Simple Plan have been rotating opening each night. Their sets are super tight since they only get 50 mins each so it's no BS. Offspring sounded great and the visuals are cool. Had a blast

Thanks, it's on a Sat during Labor Day weekend so probably using it to spend time with family vs trek out to Jones Beach but glad to hear it's delivering as it's the biggest tour The Offspring have anchored in well over 20 years. I think Dexter is still lip synching a bunch but if everyone is enjoying, so be it.

every band on the bill sounded great. was very surprised how great Dexter sounds, the piano version of Gone Away kills.

CT venue has a 6k cap & it didn't sell out but was mostly full. NJ looked REALLY well attended, but these types of tours typically do better here than a lot of other places

AAR and the supporting bands most likely got a good offer from LN similar to Yellowcard. I assume it’s more of a LN decision to book this huge of venues. Yellowcard tour had much more appropriately sized venues which is why it did so much better. I’m sure the Portland/Ridgefield date will be empty since it’s a Wednesday night and traffic to get from Portland to Ridgefield is god awful. That’s the problem with LN amphitheaters in the NW. Both Auburn and Ridgefield suck to get to and aren’t ideal locations at all.

I was thinking last night when I was there CMAC would have been a better choice but even that would have been a stretch! It was one of the weirdest crowds in general last night too

Bummer that Sincere Engineer tour isn't coming anywhere near me but I've seen them 3 times already this year so I guess I can't be too upset.

Wild line-up is wild! FWIW, though, this show came up (in a very vague way) on Chris' recent podcast and from that context it sounded like it was just this one show that they'd be playing together.

(Even though I definitely agree that a co-headliner like this would be wildly great.)

Wild that people in this thread are still confused by the Live Nation summer sheds model

I didn't realize MxPx had that type of draw, I would've thought LTJ and Relient K were both bigger bands

MxPx has done a good job over the last 10+ years of saying "no" to a lot of things until they get what they want. I think LTJ is about the same size as them, popularity-wise, but they tour more frequently which decreases demand. So it makes sense. But by the same token? No way does MxPx play a venue this size without this level of support.

The combination of bands will help them quite a bit.
