I’m no longer surprised by musical artists supporting Trump. They all have some money and it makes sense for them to back the guy who (*they think*) will cut their taxes.

Same with athletes. They may have come from a community directly harmed by the GOP but after those paychecks they’re in a much different community.

The only light in that (very good, and thorough) piece I could detect is that Gaga comes off like a real one throughout. Revolting industry.

my ex nailed it recently with the anti-flag thing, she said most of these band dudes (especially the older bands) had NO IDEA how connected the world would be in the future, now we have twitter, instagram, facebook, text messaging, screen shots (those have been the death of numerous people) and they just didn't see it coming, they thought they could do their fucked up shit and get away with it. now everyone's getting caught red-handed and it sucks but it's also good because people should be aware of who's a predator, that's how i feel about it. why would you wanna associate with someone who preys on the innocent? AF was a band for like 30 years and just broke out of the blue because of what happened. time a be changin'!

 

Not sure if this belongs here, but this is such a bone headed decision to make. Its just extreme ignorance/unwillingness to understand the eco-politics between Georgia and Russia at best.

They didn't intentionally bring out a Russian to make a point, right? They called on a fan and he just happened to be Russian?

 

That's how I saw it. They posted an apology on Facebook, basically saying it was unintentional and that they just brought a fan up and didn't realize the full context of the situation. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one, and just realized that maybe they (and I for that matter) need to brush up on my international relations history politics on stuff like that.

Brandon repeatedly asking “so we’re not brothers? I’m not your bother? You’re gonna base that on geography/borders/lines on a map who is and isn’t a brother?” is one of the dumbest “I’m trying to be smart” things I’ve heard in awhile.
