I wish more dupes would be of similar quality but for that cheap I'll always try them out. You can always bet there will be a drugstore dupe. High end brands set the trend and drugstores will always follow with a cheaper version. Nyx and wet n wild are my fave cheap dupe brands that are still good quality!

 

Got the Maybelline SuperStay Vox box and I'm totally sold. It's like that Lipsense stuff, only nowhere near as expensive. Totally into it.

 

I wanted to do some dramatic eyeliner today and realized I was out! so I went to ulta during my break and bought the stila liquid eyeliner pen. Super impressed so far, even though I was salty about the price.

 

That's the OG liner tbh!! I need a new one but I think I'll deprive myself until I'm more desperate cause the price tag isn't cute

 

I'm seriously into the sample of the KVD tattoo liner I have. Pretty sure I'll splash out for that once that and my other two samples dry out.

Also, fuck Covergirl mascaras. Stabbed myself in the eye like four times. The brush is just way too big.

 

Sephora free gift of the day is a deluxe sample of Viktor and rolf Flowerbomb. Do I need another one?? Maybe!!

 

the KVD tattoo liner is the only one I've heard praised more than the Stila. Like I said I'm QUITE impressed with the Stila but will definitely pick up it or the KVD one next time there is some sort of sale.
I am bad at justifying the price since the liner I used before this was like $7.

 

Stila is def the one I hear praised the most with kvd at a close second. Stila is darker and more dramatic so it wins for me. They're about the same level of quality imo. There is always a sephora beauty insider sale in november. That's what I'm waiting for!

Yeah they do it twice a year. One in the spring (April?) and one in November! Beauty Insiders who aren't VIB or Rouge can still get dibs too but I believe they get access last, and get the lowest discount (10% vs 20%).

 

So I need to spend $70 on my next paycheck?

I think I'll have about $75 in gift cards to spend during the VIB sale (I hoard them waiting for a sale lol) but I told myself I have to be good and only buy things I need. So looks like I'll be buying more Urban Decay All Nighter and the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum and that's it. Not very fun, but I do not need more makeup!!

 

Today I learned that the KVD Tattoo liner is not cry-proof. Idk if that helps anyone, but there ya go

 

I need to find something for my hair/scalp. It's SO dry. Once a week I put coconut oil in overnight. Still dry. I've tried tea tree oil and various products with it. I have tried so many different shampoos/conditioners/hair masks. It'll feel super soft as I'm rinsing the product out, but it never dries soft. I'm thinking I need better out of the shower products but nothing I've tried has ever worked. I work at a school so we do lice checks and I get embarrassed when I can feel them flicking dry flakes off my hair shaft omg.


Also, I hate when I get the three samples from Sephora and I guess they're out of stock so they send me some bs samples I don't want.

 

Is it normal for people not to get paid for "trial" work at a salon before they get hired? My gf worked at this place for 8 hours as a trial and she decided to work somewhere else but they didn't pay her, I feel like that's illegal. Also now the place she's working at is paying her off the books, seems like shady businesses

 

Hell no, you get paid for training everywhere or it's illegal. I wish my job paid off books because you don't have to pay taxes on it. I'm pretty sure they can get in trouble for that but she can't.

 

Has anyone tried the shea moisture line? I want to try one of their soaps to see if it would work on my skin. They were out last time I tried to purchase it

 

$31 to VIB. I'm trying to narrow down a couple of things to get on Friday so I can get that better discount during the sale. Maybe finally buy a high-end foundation or something. A Tarte palette or two.

I had a sample of the red shampoo and conditioner... I can't remember what it was. Something fruity. But it was meh. No idea how the skincare stuff works, though.

 

Halloween was really fun for me this year re:makeup. Pics to come.

 

My stepmom said my Bible came in the mail and it's the sephora holiday catalog!! VIB sale November 11th bring it ooooon. I'll be at the coast that weekend but imma be ready for it

Idk! but it's so tempting! originally I said the only thing I'd get for myself was a primer potion and a Stila liquid liner but now I want those and the kat von d liquid lipsticks set and UD lipstick in troublemaker. not counting the presents I need to get for others lol.

 

Anyone have any waterproof mascara recommendations? Trying to find a new one to get my mom since they won't be selling her old fave anymore (the Stila waterproof one). She said she doesn't like any from the drugstore so I guess something more high end. And it needs to be like SUPER waterproof. She sweats very very badly so they all smudge on her and get everywhere in only a couple hours.

Yeah, i'm super tempted to get the Too Faced Christmas box. Turns out, I'm actually $60 from VIB and now I'm torn on what to do because I was only planning on spending $30 then getting a few gifts during the sale. All of this is happening on one paycheck, too, I think.

Do we have full dates for the sale? Is the VIB special good the whole time? Blah idk how this works.
