My jaw dropped when I first heard about what type of person he was. Lostprophets is one of the bands that got me into rock music, so their music always meant something to me.

I'm kinda surprised he wasn't in protective custody, but maybe they don't have that where he's locked up? I don't know much about European prisons.

 

Systems cary wildly across European countries.

This prison, HMP Wakefield is in northern England. It’s a category A, which is high security, and generally houses people they consider the biggest threat to the public. This one is pretty notorious. It houses murderers, rapists, peadophiles… Just the worst of the worst. It’s nickname is Monster Mansion.

Despite that, there generally aren’t many incidents there at all. Everyone has their own cell, they make their own meals, etc.

I can’t remember hearing about too many other incidents honestly.

 

It’s wild that the lostprophets guy has done the most heinous things I’ve ever read about, and only got 35 years.

Idk I’m pretty on board with rehabilitation and people can change and all that good stuff but also it’s definitely not a bad thing to me that a man that wanted to (tried to?? Did?? Rehabilitation should be the primary goal of prison in 99.99% of cases. Absolutely.

But if you get sent to prison for attempting to rape a baby?

Not only that, but if you two days later you describe the whole thing as “megalolz”...

Nah. Some people can’t be rehabilitated. It’s just a fact.
