Overdrive is great imo, just wish it was longer. It ends very abruptly.

I believe it lol, I’ve been pretty out of touch with mainstream music recently. First time I’d heard of him but this rules.

Glad you’re along now! Fully believe his next record is going to be a step up and he has a long career ahead of him

Am I just looking in the wrong places or does it seem like there's not a lot of hype for this album?

I agree, which is too bad because I’ve really enjoyed all the singles

  11. This is nice so far, a lot of acoustic guitar. Really like "Mourning." "Something Real" is pretty wild.

    Is "Chemical" getting radio play?

Yeah, Chemical’s been all over the radio since June.

So did Post just appropriate black culture to get some visibility then hard pivot? Nothing about this guys music itself feels sincere…def a good dude it seems, but the music is just so middle of the road.

  15. "Enough is Enough" kinda sounds like worship music lol

  16. I wouldn't describe it as a hard pivot, his music has progressed pretty naturally from album to album to include broader instrumentation. Even when he was rapping, it was pop-rap, he's just been rapping less and less since his second record.

  17. The drums that come in at the end of the closer are nuts haha

Not "The Spins" auto-playing after this record, let's go

Makes more sense I guess. Dude just comes off as someone who made a name on the back of black culture and then moved on when it was convenient.

  19. That's fair, and I think that comes with most white hip-hop artists, maybe barring Eminem. Just gotta decide for yourself where you think his intentions lie

We reach for the longest shadow

Not real aware of what's going on in this side of music, but I'm only on Something Real and this feels pretty fresh. Post has always seemed like a genuine guy, so I usually give his albums a cursory glance.

Enjoyed this on first listen. Feels like there's at least a few on here that rise to a really high level in his discography. I know people weren't terribly high on TCT, but "Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol" and "Euthanasia" are pretty much my favorite songs he's ever written.

This sounds excellent on vinyl, by the way. Picked it up today. Last track feels huge.
