For more than 10 years, it was something Mindy McGillivray said she shared only with a close circle of family and friends.

That changed Sunday night. Donald Trump was asked during the presidential debate about when he bragged that he kissed women without their consent and grabbed their genitals – remarks captured on audio that surfaced last week.

Trump apologized for the remarks and dismissed them as “locker room talk.” But the debate moderator, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, asked Trump to clarify: “Have you ever done those things?”

“No, I have not,’’ Trump replied.

Watching at home in Palm Springs, Fla., McGillivray said she rose from her couch and yelled at the TV screen: “‘You liar!’’’

Meh, I would disagree both in spirit and substance. In the vast world of evil political actors, Scalia was hardly worth noting. Sure, he was condescending and had a few bigoted dissents, but there have been many, many times where he was considerably more logical and beneficial to his constituents than liberal members like Ginsburg and Breyer. Also, Scalia was commendable for constantly engaging his critics and providing rationale, usually very cogent, behind his decision. Conversely, the real Court evil Clarence Thomas, never writes opinions, never talks during sessions, and never attempts to qualify or justify his fucking terrible holdings such as those legitimizing child labor, permitting corruption, and denying due process.

And, in spirit, I just think we should narrowly tailor the group for which we praise their deaths on a moral policy basis. Phyllis Schafly, for instance of a recent death, would be more in-line with that group for me. Other names that pop up are Ted Nugent, Scott Walker, Nigel Farage, Koch bros, Rupert Murdoch, and maybe Ted Cruz.

Also, Prince was kind of a dick, yeah? Didn't he constantly and aggressively go after his fans for disseminating or using his songs without paying him a dick load of cash first? Declaring the end of the internet and litigating against the fans that made you rich is very Ron Paul-ian.

 

Still waiting for the apology that it was bathrooms that needed "protecting" while you nominated this asshole GOP.

man, while i'm all for having a small list of people whom i loathe for their political actions and their consequences on oppressed people, scalia (and thomas) like, definitely belongs up there. dude was the breaking point of so many progressive measures over his time in the court, and was unrepentant about being a total asshole when he felt like it. RBG had a close friendship with him and praised his mind - all of which is good but doesn't make me even remotely less willing to place him next to the rest of the shits.
