The Anti-Flag incident led me to discovering the "enough." podcast, which seems (at first listen) like really poignant and careful discussions about abuse within the music industry. Worth the time if you can stomach the horrific nature of it all.

 

They broke up when the lead singer became a Christian. He started a new band Day of Fire. Saw them play a show at a church with a friend of mine and we all hit it off. They invited us to go eat with them and the band that opened for them, who's lead singer turned out to be pre-American Idol Chris Daughtry. Nice dudes all around

 

I like that story

 

Then Day Of Fire broke up and he reformed Full Devil Jacket. They put out another album and haven't been heard from since.

 

I know about a year ago people came forward about Chris from LTJ but it never caught wind. Looks like more people are trying again.

 

Jesus christ it never stops. So you're telling me I'm going to have to just deal with feeling weird about listening to 99% of my music library of 2000s punk/emo or just accept that I'll have to make the switch to new wave kenny hoopa or whatever the fuck his name is?

Please share with the class what makes you surprised that Chris DeMakes of LTJ does not have a clean record.

I was a pretty big fan of LTJ for a very long time and he's always been pretty openly gross.

 

It was mostly in jest since I rarely listened to less than jake or any of the other ska bands in the circle. However, I am a regular listener to his podcast, which I typically really enjoy (ie the amazing Kenny Vasoli one from the other day). So judging solely off listening to him almost every week, it does come as a shock since I never even considered it being a possibility.

Pop punk has had a bad record of this for a while now. It’s really up to you what’s acceptable when it comes to what you listen to and how you feel about it.

 

I never liked LTJ because I saw them once and I didn't know their music, I went for someone else, but during the Price is Right/Wheel Of Fortune tour or whatever the fuck it was they kept calling people retarded and a bunch of other gross shit so I was pretty on board with classifying them as fucking losers.

 

Really a bummer that Roger and Chris ended up being such POS - LTJ was one of my top bands and it really just isn’t the same listening to them and feels gross.

 

Yeah it’s been a well known open secret in the scene about his creepiness.
