This a very rare time I actually might enjoy the new recording more.

I prefer OG Metalheads, but this Boring Town. Either way, 25 years later, they sound great

Small nit-picks about both re-recordings but both sound pretty good and still feel just as urgent as they did back in the fall of '98. One thing that's undeniable, though, is that Roger is an infinitely better singer now than he was back then!

I do really think one thing the band could do to ramp up listening on these tracks? Release a "no soundclip" version of "Metalheads." Not that I don't love it but... There's certain playlists I've made where it just kinda kills the vibe/momentum so I skip the track. Hah.

Sidenote: I really wish more of the major label punk/ska/hardcore bands from the mid-to-late 90s that had minor radio hits could do what MxPx did and find a way to get their masters from that era... Seems like that can be a real gamechanger in terms of bands being able to function independently at a decent level.

This deserves attention. I am thankful for the bands that have made it this long without breakups, drama, etc. Metalheads started it all for me on Tony Hawk pro skater. Long live LTJ
