Collision did Rampage like numbers on Saturday. I don’t know what their expectations were, but that cannot be good. It’s not even football season and they are getting killed. This weekend is going to be tough too going against a big UFC card.

 

I want Eddie to have a Mankind type moment and win the AEW title at a random Dynamite

 

I'm just loving the amount of wrestlers giving Eddie love online.

 

I mean, it was #3 when it debuted and #5 in the 2nd episode; there's almost always a sporting event or two going (like the College World Series) that is gonna be #1, but nothing else does over a 0.2 demo share or anywhere close to a million viewers; even the network stuff is incredibly lowly rated except for ABC World News Tonight for some reason (like 15% of 50+ people watch it...absolutely wild).

Pre-Collision, the winners for a night were the Stanley Cup Finals (0.58/1.9mil) and then UFC Fight Night and Formula 1 (both doing 0.28/~800k). Everything else on TV does Rampage/Collision level ratings unless old people watch it.

I wonder if they'll start moving the show to different nights or times once college football starts - September 2nd will get ugly for Collision (holiday weekend, the first full weekend of college football games, and WWE Payback).

 

No they aren’t going to move it that just makes shit worse

 

I mean they've moved Rampage to different nights based on the week

they could keep it on that Saturday and have no one watch or try to run it on Thursday

 

They change the times, not the day and the results are terrible. It’s a last resort thing when they are forced to due to programming.

 

they knew ratings would be garbage

the numbers will be way more fun when they're up against a big wwe show and eventually football in December/January

 

regarding ratings:

 

Banking on wrestling fans not having lives & watching a Saturday night show was a fair gamble.

 

Ratings down during what was basically a holiday weekend isn't anything alarming.

 

we also gotta consider what it's replacing. i would imagine a Saturday slot with that much turnover likely had a movie or syndicated reruns prior. if Collision can get 4-500k people actively watching, that's probably a lot more appealing a proposition to advertisers than a background noise flick, even if it pulled similar numbers. that's why the demo talk is the only thing that matters in ratings threads: advertisers will care that young men are watching.

that said, i haven't watched live once, even on Fite. i've enjoyed each ep but none have felt like must-see cards in advance. that will probably change this Sat.

 

They have had Rampage on Saturday nights in the past.

Fans most likely have different expectations than Warner-Discovery.

 

For the upcoming show with 90K+ seats, has that location had that large of an audience before? I guess I’m curious what the actual views will be for people. Are they bringing in a bunch of screens so people can see? Obviously Tony has the money I just wonder what the actual logistics and placement would be for not just the nosebleeds but the people in the 30K range or the 50K or even the goddamn 70K lol that’s so many people! And what is the size of a wrestling ring?

 

AEW consistently put on gold standard, insanely amazing matches every PPV and very entertaining television matches with few clunkers, have nearly sold out wembley without a card announced and people still wanna debate antiquated things like ratings on a Saturday night show.
