1. Woke in this context almost always means disgusting ameboids upset about less nudity and panty shots and aging up characters. They can rot in hell.

2. Even if it didn't, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is literally about a lesbian couple. It can't get woke if it's already awakened.

 

It's almost like these people are always scum and just perpetuate the worst aspects of the medium.

 

That's only a good reason if we get that far. Still, if that truly is their reasoning, then that's promising for its potential to fully adapt the series.

 

Yep. Spending too much time on the MyAnimeList forums in the early 2010's gave me legitimate brain rot from all of the horrendous takes I would constantly see from its users

 

MyAnimeList users are still trash. The things they rate highly are usually for the most cringeworthy reasons

 

I use MAL for the same reason I use Letterboxd, my memory is totally fucked and I need a list of things I can check to see if I’ve watched it before

 

That's absolutely what I do. I have a list on my phone of anime I watch and I make little notes. It's not comprehensive at all, but I like knowing what I've checked out.

 

I use AnimePlanet because I don't like how the way MAL works very much.

 

What I do is make a watchlist and then never actually you know watch anything

 

I use a phone app that I used to watch anime through illegally, but they cut that functionality. They still use MAL to track your watchlist though, so I just use it for that.

 

Mood, but my excuse is that my work schedule this past year took a lot out of me and basically killed my motivation to do anything. I will have more free time this summer though so hopefully I can pick back up on at least some of the stuff I had on my backlog

 

Like I want to watch anime and I roughly track the new stuff that comes out, I just never actually commit to watching it. And it's very much not just anime that I do this with. I'm just governed by mood and my depression. So I often just find myself working and then going and curling up in bed and watching some silliness on like YouTube. Something I can enjoy but don't need to focus on, just close my eyes and listen and distract. It's not ideal, lol.

Yeah, during Covid I was laying around watching full seasons in a day because that’s all I had. Now it’s hard for me to focus on anything, so a subtitled anime episode isn’t my first go to.

Well, okay, I maybe put it too simply. Tohru, the titular dragon maid, is deeply in love with Kobayashi, while Kobayashi is more muted about it, but that's mainly because she's not accustomed to love, not because she's not interested. And she has a deep hard-on for maids, so there's that.

 

Also there's that love story between the two little girls in the first season right? Or just one of them being so infatuated with the other. I haven't watched more than the first season so I don't know where that leads

 

Dragon maid is fun but the second season went overboard with fanservice shit, including a new character who is 90% boobs. And yeah, the child dragon is funny but they do super creepy shit with her

 

I think I know what scene you're referencing with that last one. Probably a contender for your weird shit video.

 

I know it's been said a million times online before but they really need to do away with the "I'm in the body of a child but I'm actually 3,000 years old so it's alright" trope.

 

Really hope we get a second season of Skip and Loafer, those characters are all so endearing and from what I hear the manga gets so much better from where the show ended. It's a shame most slice of life adaptations only get a single cour

 

I just finished “act one” of Wano and…I can’t stop reading. It’s probably my favorite series of all time tied with Star Trek. So many plot twists, wtf moments, and character development.
