If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Sanchez, and Fred if City think you’re paying too much, you’re paying too much.

 

Hard to know. He’s worth more to us than them. To us, he could become an absolutely vital part of our first team. City already have a world leading player there in Rodri.

That said, any transfer over ~£50m makes me massively nervous.

 

I echo the sentiment that City rarely get it wrong in the market. In fact, I can only really think of Phillips (even he's been unlucky with injuries) and Ferran Torres (they made a profit on him) as duds out of their "big" buys.

 

City moving onto Gabri Veiga instead of Rice for just 40m could be a masterstroke.

 

I think Arteta is investing in Rice's leadership skills as much as his talent on the pitch. And I think the same can be said of Havertz (captain of Germany u19s) and Timber's influence as well.

I think it's clear that he's trying to stop our collapses from happening again, and that he thinks that means higher investment in these kind of players alongside the base we already have.

 

Signed this fella on FM from Villa where he had been for 3 years or so. Paid a pretty fucking penny. Everything checked out, used to rip us apart with them, good stats, fit in as the kind of winger we played with. Got man of the match in his first start with us. The proceeded to drop absolute clangers every week. Genuinely one of the biggest wastes of money I’ve ever spent on fm. Ended his first season with no goals or assists and the lowest average rating in my squad. Man was a fucking liability. Safe to say I fucking hate him.

and with that he’ll probably be class for Chelsea. Prick.

 

I am struggling to think of one player that this happened with that I don't think I would regret. Club has been on point with these over a good maybe 5 year run now.

 

He has a release clause too, this front office loves them some release claused players.

 

I feel like Chelsea buys 2-3 Brazilian teenagers every summer and then I never hear about them again.

Scared me that they were done with the series there for a minute as I read it. Dig the move on the graphics systems though I assume I am going to have to get a new computer to run that.

Also been meaning to ask this, anybody have any idea on when the next time FM will go on sale. I think I am two versions behind and think its time to upgrade.

 

It's actually on sale right now, 50% off I think? Ends in two or so weeks. 23 isn't the most exciting version if you had 22, but if you haven't bought one for a while I reckon it'll be decent to pick up.

Alternatively if you have Amazon Prime, they tend to give the most recent version away via Prime Gaming (although it's the Epic Games version, if that matters to you) around the start of September, if you're not in a big rush to get it. Or at least, they have the last 2 or 3 years iirc.

 

Sounds like Spurs want 2 CBs, a wide attacking player, and another CM (if Hojbjberg is sold).

Gotta say, we are being a lot more aggressive than I anticipated. It's either Levy trying to make the team good enough to convince Kane to stay....or Kane will be sold at the end of the window to fund our signings.

The CB targets I've seen are exciting. But haven't seen much of who the winger or CM could be. Could see us circling back to Amrabat after trying to sign him the last two windows.

Ahh perfect so much good info here. Yeah I am still on '21 so I will probably just scoop this up now then. I stopped playing '21 like a month or two ago after playing it damn near daily lol. Got tired of what is now a repetitive nature of that version.
