Love Live is a long-running Japanese franchise based around school idol groups. There's anime, mobile games, concerts, albums, etc. It's a very big deal.

This particular game is based on Sunshine In The Mirror, a currently-running spinoff of Love Live Sunshine that puts the cast in a fantasy world, with their resident chunibyo Yoshiko ("It's Yohane, the Fallen Angel!!") in the starring role.

Gal-Gun, on the other hand, is a series of games of dubious quality with equal parts rail shooter and dating sim where you're attacked by women that you have to shoot with pheromone bullets to stop their advances while trying to court the game's main girls. I can't lie, it's pretty pervy.

 

This looks awesome! Coming later next month.

 

If you buy physical, what kind of disc does it come in?

sony overpaid for bungie and msft dodged a bullet. Destiny2 is barely playable for 24 hours straight anymore. they've moved all their talent to marathon, a revival of a previous IP from decades ago now as an extraction shooter, a genre that is extremely niche. they've burned bridges with their D2 pvp community and i would expect there will be minimal crossover between d2 players and marathon players when it releases.

Sony has been very trigger happy when it comes to shutting down studios lately. But yeah Bungie is probably not high on the list for now though, because they paid so much money for it.

 

Bungie is literally Sony’s most important studio right now, with them playing an advisory role in their shift to a more GAAS focused lineup. They will be more than fine.

 

It’s pretty rough if Bungie is the one advising you on that. But it could be worse, it could be 343 lol

Sony definitely wouldn't want to take advice from 343 from a business standpoint. But from a player's perspective? Bungie is undeniably worse. Imagine if 343 made us pay for Forge and then a couple of years later, they removed it from the game while it was still live and being supported. That's what Bungie has done with a ton of their paid content, including entire expansions. How that became acceptable amongst the Destiny community is beyond me.

Yeah and that's not even getting into the microtransactions pay 2 win controversy going on in D2 right now. It's a dumpster fire, Moose. We could do it better, even if we wouldn't make as much money. lol

 

They’ve been siphoning their money from D2 to fund marathons development with all the things that D2 players have been asking for for YEARS now. D2 servers are shot to shit, it’s a weekly if not daily occurrence that players are getting booted from the game for hours, there’s regular “emergency maintenance” on the game, and there hasn’t been a peep about it from Bungie. If you’re paying 3.6b to a studio who can’t even keep their game up for 24 hours straight to come in and advise you on GAAS and live service games, I’d be a little worried

I wouldn’t say it’s pay to win, but it’s def not even a free to play game, more so it’s a free to try game and they are nickel and dime-ing the player base to death while the game is circling the drain it feels like.

I’ve deleted it off my hard drive a few weeks ago. Have over 5k hours in the series and I’m not playing until February when the last expansion comes out so I can just finish the story and be done. It’s super disappointing to me

 

Damn, yeah that’s a bummer. Fucking corporate greed ruins everything.

 

It’s such a weird time for me to have gotten back into Destiny because yeah the community is outraged lol. But idk, as someone who hasn’t played seriously in a while there’s a ton of stuff for me to do and catch up on and I’m having a blast with it this season.
